Global indie game publishers Devolver Digital, Lucasfilm, and Terrible Toybox have unveiled the release schedule of ‘Return to Monkey Island’, which deals with the love and adventures of ‘Guy Brush’ in time for the opening night of Gamescom. The game is scheduled to be released on September 19th on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The secret history of Monkey Island will once again revolve around ‘Guybrush Threepwood’. The protagonist is set to turn the Caribbean upside down once again, with a diverse set of characters including a brave hero, a leather jacket salesman and a pirate.
Return to Monkey Island, which is not a remake, but an official sequel, has been joined by original authors Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman. While the original composer is in charge of the OST and writes new songs, the main character, Guybrush Thripwood, is also voiced by Dominic Armato.
Of course, many things have changed. The most notable part is the visuals, and the new artwork was done by Rex Crow. In addition, new jokes and new systems such as control methods were applied.
‘Return to Monkey Island’, which released a new trailer along with the release schedule, also released a pre-order with special privileges at the same time, and the game will be available on PC and Nintendo e-shop.
