- Inspired by Brazilian gaming culture of the 2000s… Recorded 70,000 wishlists before release
- ‘Quake’-style high-speed combat… 32 maps and 13 types of weapons spanning Rio and São Paulo
Independent developer Joeveno and publisher NoQuarter have officially released the new old-school FPS ‘BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER BEFORE 4’ on Steam.
‘BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER BEFORE 4’ is a work inspired by Brazil’s mod culture, pirated games, and Brazilian music of the 2000s.
Based on the id Tech 2 engine, the game features fast-paced, intense combat influenced by early ‘Quake’, and garnered attention by recording over 70,000 wishlists even before its official release.
This new title was helmed by an indie development team led by Joeeveno, a famous content creator and musician from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Joeeveno received favorable reviews from both users and critics for his previous work, ‘BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER 3,’ which showcased Brazil’s unique local culture and witty sense of humor.
A standalone expanded edition continuing the legacy… Rio, São Paulo, and Salvador are the stages.
This work is a standalone expanded edition of the previous game, which deals with events unfolding as the gates of hell open in the slums of Rio de Janeiro.
In the previous work, the protagonist saved Mit Aia, Mackie Jackie, and the band Mamadas and threw a party in heaven, but this time, a new incident begins as Mamadas is kidnapped by the villain Ronaldo Mcdalest.
The player must rescue the kidnapped band members and their mode of transportation, the ‘Globeseta Portal Opener Car,’ and defeat the demon remnants left behind from the previous invasion to defend three cities, including Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Salvador.
32 maps, 13 types of weapons, and enemies filled with Brazilian humor
The game features a total of 32 maps. It consists of 18 campaign maps, 7 Horde modes, and 6 Deathmatch modes, and the campaign also includes a separate skate stage.
Players must save the city and the Mamadas by traversing across all of Rio de Janeiro, parts of São Paulo and Salvador, and even Hell and Heaven. There are also elements for finding hidden secret areas throughout the game.
There are a total of 13 types of weapons. You can use a variety of weapons, ranging from the Sleeper (Flip-flop) to the Shimahang Flamethrower and the Feijoada Slingshot Needler.
Items from the previous game, such as the Berimbau, the payphone that shoots coconuts when a coin is inserted, and the banknote paper airplane gun, also reappear. In addition, new weapons have been added, including a slingshot utilizing a feijoada bowl and a flamethrower using the traditional Brazilian tea, Cimahang.
The enemies also reflect a unique Brazilian sense of humor. In addition to enemies from the previous game, such as armed demons, zombies, Brazilian-style truck clowns, and possessed Brazilian singers, new enemies appear, including a duo on a motorcycle, an angry rat inside a TV, and a possessed soccer team mascot.
Double jump and dash implemented with fireworks, Steamworks-based cooperative multiplayer
The movement system has also been significantly enhanced compared to the previous game. New double jump and dash functions have been added, implemented by ‘sticking firecrackers in the butt’ according to the game’s setting.
By utilizing this, you can access hidden secret areas that can only be discovered by using rocket jumps or double jumps, reminiscent of the ‘Quake’ series from the 90s.
Multiplayer supports cooperative play and deathmatch on all maps via Steamworks. Another feature is the ability to invite friends to play together without separate port forwarding.
