Sogang University has opened recruitment through October 5 for its “AI-Specialized Game Development Convergence Talent Program,” run under the Youth Employment Academy University+ (청년취업사관학교 대학+) initiative — a program built to train practical talent capable of applying generative AI across game planning, art, and development, with a direct pipeline from training project to portfolio, employment, startup, and commercial launch.
Program Structure
The initiative runs across two tracks. The “AI Convergence Game Development Education Course” covers game development fundamentals and role-specific AI application skills. The “AI-Specialized Game Development Project Course” focuses on actual game production and commercialization.
Combined, the two tracks will select 52 trainees across planning, art, and development roles, with the project course also open to team-based applications rather than individuals only. Selected trainees receive access to high-spec equipment, AI asset subscription and production support, and dedicated team project space.
Prizes and Follow-On Support
Outstanding projects are eligible for a total of ₩50 million in prize opportunities, along with 3-6 months of dedicated workspace and continued support for technical refinement and launch mentoring — support structured to carry a strong project from the training program through to an actual commercial release rather than ending at project completion.
The Korea AI Game Association and the Korea Game Developers Association are cooperating on employment and startup linkage programming, supporting practical, industry-facing elements including mentoring from working professionals, hiring matching, IR pitching sessions, and opportunities to exhibit externally.
Who Should Apply
The program targets young people looking to strengthen their game development capability through generative AI, indie developers pursuing game commercialization, and applicants seeking to build a team-project-based portfolio.
Applications close on October 5 at 11:59 PM. Full eligibility requirements and the selection process are available on the official program website.
A Sogang University representative: “By connecting AI education with hands-on game projects, we aim to cultivate practical talent that the industry actually needs. We plan to support trainees all the way from game production through launch, employment, and entrepreneurship.”
