- An open-world action RPG developed by a team of 13 former Ubisoft members
- Combining combat, exploration, crafting, and fortress building… Early Access launch in 2027
Eldrem Studios, an indie studio in Bucharest, Romania, has officially unveiled its new premium RPG , ‘Eldrem Kingdoms’ .
‘Eldrem Kingdoms’ is being produced by a 13-person studio founded by veteran developers who participated in the development of major Ubisoft franchises such as ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and ‘Ghost Recon’.
The game features a combination of fast-paced combat, free-flying exploration, creature collection and breeding, crafting, and fortress construction, and is currently under development with a target release date of 2027 for PC (Steam) Early Access. The released Reveal trailer provides a glimpse into the game’s world, key content, and visuals.
Turn a baby creature into a legendary companion and conquer the skies riding a dragon.
The player begins by capturing and taming a wild, vulnerable baby creature. The process of raising it into a combat-specialized companion through systematic training maximizes the fun of nurturing.
The key is a differentiated role structure. Creatures do not remain mere mounts; instead, they act as strategic partners linked to the player character, sharing powerful magic and unique skills.
It is a structure where the entire paradigm of combat changes completely as you customize your own creature and set its development direction.
The development team has revealed that regarding the direction of the game’s world-building, they combined the emotional depth of the movie ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ with the grand and serious atmosphere characteristic of the drama ‘Game of Thrones,’ raising expectations among global gamers.
The creature is the combat style; it fights by freely switching between them.
In the game, the currently summoned creature determines the player’s spells, combat skills, and special abilities.
When you switch companions as needed, the available abilities and combat styles change immediately. The gameplay unfolds by selecting different creatures to adapt to the enemy or situation, thereby changing the combat style.
Exploration is also one of the main contents. Players can travel between various floating islands to discover ancient ruins and explore diverse biomes.
A system for constructing and expanding your own floating fortress will also be provided. Within the fortress, you can craft equipment and breed and train creatures, and you can also recruit NPC experts to automate repetitive tasks. At the same time, you must also fulfill the role of defending the fortress from enemy attacks.
An independent studio founded by 13 veterans from Ubisoft
Eldrem Studios is an independent studio founded by senior developers who participated in the development of Ubisoft’s major titles, such as ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and ‘Ghost Recon’.
Co-founder George Cercheaza stated, “The entire team has been making games at major AAA studios for a long time,” emphasizing that independent development allows them to take on new challenges and evolve the game by communicating directly with the community.
‘Eldrem Kingdoms’ is being developed based on Unreal Engine, and it is known that the development period has already exceeded one year.
Kickstarter goal exceeded… Multiplayer also planned
‘Eldrem Kingdoms’ is currently conducting community funding through Kickstarter.
The initial goal of $20,000 set by the developer was reached within five hours of the announcement. Since then, funding exceeding the target has been collected, and the developer plans to introduce additional goals and new features based on community feedback.
Cooperative and competitive multiplayer content is also planned to be added in the future. However, the game is fundamentally intended to be a premium title centered on single-player gameplay, and the policy is not to introduce “Pay to Win” elements through partial monetization, where players become stronger the more money they spend.
‘Eldrem Kingdoms’, presented by an independent studio founded by developers who gained experience on Ubisoft’s major projects, is a game that combines creature training, action combat, open-world exploration, and fortress building.
With the game scheduled for a full release via Steam Early Access in 2027, attention is focused on how the development team will translate the experience gained at major studios into an independent development environment.
