The second event of ‘Seoul Game Town,’ an indie game exhibition billed as a festival for all games, has concluded with great success.
Seoul Game Town 2 was held in Pangyo last Saturday (July 4). The event venue, filled with visitors of various ages, genders, and nationalities, was lively throughout the day. Approximately 300 visitors attended the exhibition and experienced unique games from a total of 35 teams. Waiting lines of over an hour formed at some popular booths.
Seoul Game Town is an indie game exhibition that recruits participating teams on a first-come, first-served basis without a separate screening process. Unlike typical exhibitions, it focuses on expanding the “opportunity to participate” itself rather than on development scale or commercial viability.
In particular, this event attracted a wide range of visitors, extending beyond the developer community to include general gamers, serving as an opportunity to confirm that creator-led exhibitions can expand into public interest.
Seoul Game Town 2 was sponsored by ‘Vijob’, an employment support platform for foreign workers, and ‘PLITHUS’, a game testing platform, and ‘Portal’ series developer ‘Jeep Barnett’ participated as an event partner.
The Seoul Game Town Organizing Committee stated, “We were surprised by the enthusiasm that exceeded expectations, and we also clearly identified areas for improvement, such as congestion at the venue,” adding, “We will prepare for the next Seoul Game Town so that visitors can encounter more games in a better environment.”
