The Korea AI Game Association (한국인공지능게임협회) is accepting applications through September 4 for the third round of the 2026 Game Development Environment AI Transformation (AX) Support Program — a subsidy program that covers AI tool and solution costs for domestic game companies engaged in AI adoption across their production and service operations.
What Changed in Round 3
The program’s previous two rounds focused on studios with 1-10 employees and saw those allocation slots filled. Round 3 expands eligibility to companies of 21 or more employees and establishes a priority selection order: studios with 11-20 employees and 21+ employee companies will be selected first, with remaining slots going to smaller studios afterward.
Companies of 21 or more employees must submit a Small and Medium Enterprise Certification (중소기업확인서) with their application.
Support Amounts by Company Size
| Company Size | Maximum Support |
|---|---|
| 1–2 employees | ₩5,000,000 |
| 3–10 employees | ₩10,000,000 |
| 11–20 employees | ₩20,000,000 |
| 21+ employees | ₩50,000,000 |
The program covers 100% of the costs for domestic AI programs and solutions used in game production and service. Foreign AI solution costs are covered at 90% up to the company’s applicable limit. VAT is excluded from the subsidy calculation.
Who Can Apply
Domestic small and medium-sized game companies, indie game businesses, and sole proprietors engaged in using AI technology in game development or service operations. Applications are submitted through an online Google Form during the August 21 – September 4 window (closes 5:00 PM on September 4).
Selection is determined through eligibility review and a combined lottery system administered by the participating association.
The Korea AI Game Association stated that Round 3’s expansion reflects the program’s objective of enabling companies at various scales — not only solo developers and small studios — to integrate AI tools into their development environments and strengthen their global competitiveness.
