Changjo Gongjakso, a company specializing in game sound, announced on the 28th that it will host the ‘1st AI Game Sound Design Challenge with GXG 2026 (AI GSDC)’.
This competition is hosted by Changjo Gongjakso and co-organized by AI platform developer Odia and indie musician platform Likers, and sponsored by GXG 2026, Com2uS Platform, Microsoft, Morisawa, and the Korea Mobile Game Association.
‘AI GSDC’ is a creative competition where participants design new sounds for official videos provided by game companies using the game sound design platform ‘Gamesound.ai’. Participants select a video from the released game footage and complete their work by creating new music (BGM), sound effects (SFX), and voice.
Twelve game companies, including Com2uS, Haegin, AK Interactive, Endrim, Blue Potion Games, Story Taco, Tri-Pulse Games, Dream Motion, Red Ginkgo Games, Hypercent, Bird Letter, and Ubis, are participating in this competition as video sponsors. Participants will showcase their sound design capabilities by reinterpreting game scenes and atmospheres in their own ways, using music, sound effects, and voiceovers, based on videos provided by each game company.

Registration for the competition has been ongoing since July 24. Participants can enter as individuals or in teams of up to five people. Participants must use Gamesound.ai to create all the new sounds, including BGM, sound effects, and voiceovers for the provided game video, and submit the completed video and project file by 11:59 PM on August 23.
The preliminary round will be conducted from August 24 to 25 through evaluations by professional judges, and the Top 10 finalists will be announced on August 26. Subsequently, the final winners will be determined by reflecting 50% each of web voting and professional judge evaluations, and the final announcement and awards ceremony will take place on September 12 at the GXG 2026 main stage (Pangyo Station Plaza).
The tournament features a total of over 17.45 million won in prize money and benefits, including cash and goods. One gold medal team will receive 3 million won in cash, one silver medal (Hive Award) team 1 million won, and two bronze medal teams 500,000 won each. Additionally, various prizes and benefits will be provided, such as Gamesound AI Ultra subscriptions, Hive credits, an Xbox Series S, and a Nintendo Switch 2.
Gamesound.ai, used in the competition, is a game sound production platform equipped with a library of over 20,000 sounds, AI-based BGM, sound effects, and voice generation, AI sound search, multi-track audio editing and middleware functions, and project management capabilities.
