- A new indie game created by the creator of ‘Ski Resort Tycoon’ and his son
- Combining resort construction and snowboarding action… Targeting a Winter 2026 release
Indie studio The Cat’s Eye Studio has unveiled a new game called ‘Powder Park’, which combines resort building simulation and snowboarding action, and has released a Steam page.
Players build a mountain resort by placing lifts, accommodations, jump ramps, and rails. Once construction is complete, they can exit the management screen and snowboard directly onto the slopes they created.
According to the developer, the creator of the original ‘Ski Resort Tycoon’ series also participated in the production. The release is targeted for the winter of 2026.
Building My Own Resort That Doesn’t Stop at the Blueprint
In ‘Powder Park,’ players carve slopes themselves to create bowls and ridges, and place accommodations on the mountain slopes. Lifts, jumps, and rails can also be installed wherever desired to suit the terrain. The developers emphasized free construction with no fixed blueprints or correct answers.
You can choose the mountain range to build the resort from the American Northwest, the Rocky Mountains, the Alps, Japan, or Scandinavia. Once the building is completed, guests will arrive to fill the accommodations and use the slopes. Completing quests given by guests and staff and raising the resort level unlocks new buildings and builds reputation.

Once I finish maintenance, I go straight up the mountain I built myself, and also visit a friend’s resort.
Running the resort is not the only core fun element of the game; riding the board yourself is also part of the fun. Once construction is complete, you can go up the slopes and glide in third-person view. The developers explained that turning, tricks, and even falling are all controlled by the player’s controls and physics effects.
You can roam the mountains alone or visit a friend’s resort to go snowboarding together in real time. Online co-op play is listed on the Steam page. It is also possible to look around a friend’s resort and get ideas for building.
Healing Tycoon: Make the Mountain Your Home Without Budget Pressure
The developer introduced ‘Powder Park’ as a relaxing tycoon game that can be enjoyed without pressure. It is designed to reduce the burden of budget management, which is common in typical management games, allowing employees to run the resort on their own. Steam tags include ‘cozy’, ‘relaxing’, ‘family-friendly’, ‘cute’, ‘cartoon’, and ‘colorful’.
The team members personally modeled everything from buildings and snowboards to falling animations. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine. The minimum specifications are Windows 10 64-bit, AMD Ryzen 5 3400G or Intel Core i5-8400, 16GB of RAM, AMD RDNA 2 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, and DirectX 12.

A studio founded by the creator of ‘Ski Resort Tycoon’ and his son
Cat’s Eye Studios is an independent studio founded by Patrick Wilkinson and his son Maverick. According to the developer, Patrick was active in the industry for 35 years and retired early in his career after creating the original Ski & Snowboard Tycoon series.
The inspiration for the new project was a snowboard controller Maverick made himself as a Christmas gift. A team was formed based on the idea of Maverick, who had just finished his game design degree, and joined by students preparing to enter the industry and developers who had lost their jobs due to the industry downturn. The development company stated that the team consists of 12 members, including Patrick and Maverick.

“Powder Park,” a new tycoon game with a unique vibe that combines resort management and sports action, is accelerating development with the goal of releasing it in the winter of 2026.
It is expected that we will be able to see how the unique idea of users carving mountains and designing their own slopes, breaking away from standardized blueprints, will be realized around the time actual snow falls this winter.
