– Recruitment by April 22 for teenagers who have interest in and ability to play games
– Provision of game development practical training, game competition and exhibition opportunities
The Netmarble Cultural Foundation (Chairman Bang Jun-hyeok) announced that it will recruit youths to participate in the 7th regular course of the Game Academy by April 22.
‘Game Academy’, which started in 2016, is a social contribution activity that provides and supports education on the actual game development process for teenagers who aspire to become future game talents.
Any middle and high school youth with interest and competency in game development can apply for the game academy, and they can choose the desired field among game planning, programming, and graphic design.
Students wishing to participate can download the application form from the Netmarble Foundation website ( www.netmarblefoundation.org ), fill it out, and submit it to netmarble-academy@naver.com along with a portfolio.
Students who are finally selected through documents and in-depth screening will have the opportunity to make their own games while receiving practical education and mentoring from professional instructors throughout the game production for about 8 months from May.
In addition, competitions and exhibitions are held together so that participating students can demonstrate their abilities, and outstanding works are awarded and disclosed.
Na-Young Lee, Executive Director of the Netmarble Cultural Foundation, said, “The game academy, which has been running since 2016, provides a systematic educational curriculum that has been accumulated through nurturing about 570 future game talents so far, and is actively supporting the development of students’ competency. We hope that many young people with passion and potential for the game will apply for recruitment,” he said.
Meanwhile, the ‘Game Academy Boot Camp’, a game expert training program that was first established last year, is scheduled to recruit participants for the 2nd term in June.
