The Chungnam Content Agency (President Kim Gok-mi) has officially launched the “Chungnam Global Game Center Indie Game Park Incubation Program”, aiming to nurture indie game developers and build a self-sustaining game content ecosystem in the Chungcheongnam-do region.
14 Development Teams Selected for Support
A total of 14 development teams have been selected for the program. Among them, 11 teams are pre-startups, while 3 are early-stage startups. Selection was based on a comprehensive evaluation of creativity, development potential, marketability, and team structure.
Selected teams will receive customized support across stages, including:
- Office space
- Mentorship
- Networking opportunities
- Testing & marketing assistance
Launching With ‘Networking Day’
On July 14, the agency hosted a Networking Day event at its headquarters to kick off the program. About 35 participants, including selected developers and stakeholders, attended the session, where they shared the program’s goals and engaged in open networking.
Upcoming Schedule
The agency outlined a concrete timeline for continued support:
- September: A follow-up selection round will identify 3–5 teams to receive targeted support for commercial readiness, including art and sound improvements, marketing, QA, and localization.
- November: Additional high-performing teams will be selected to receive a combined KRW 140 million (approx. USD 105,000) in development funding.
Global Outreach – Japan Study Tour
In a move to boost global competitiveness, a 3-night, 4-day study tour to Japan is planned for 24 pre-registered participants. The tour includes attendance at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) and visits to Japanese game companies, providing hands-on insight into the international market.
Building a Lasting Indie Ecosystem
Kim Je-gon, Head of the Future Industry Division at the agency, stated:
“The Chungnam Global Game Center aims to be more than just a space provider — we’re establishing a true platform for commercialization and global expansion. Through this incubation program, we hope to solidify the region’s self-sustaining indie game ecosystem and will continue to support creators through various initiatives.”
