A total of 14 teams have been selected… Practical development support focused on aspiring entrepreneurs is underway.
Networking Day to be held on July 14th… Further support for advanced teams is planned for September and for excellent teams in November.
Chungnam Content Promotion Agency (Director Kim Gok-mi) announced on the 17th that it will be actively promoting the ‘Chungnam Global Game Center Indie Game Park Incubating Project’ and plans to establish a foundation for fostering a game content industry ecosystem and indie game developers in the Chungnam region.
A total of 14 development teams were selected for this incubation program. Eleven teams were aspiring entrepreneurs and three were early-stage startups. Selection was based on a comprehensive assessment of game planning, creativity, development capabilities, marketability, and team composition. Selected teams will receive customized support at each stage, including office space, mentoring, networking, testing, and marketing.
Prior to launching the project, the Chungnam Content Agency held a “Networking Day” on July 14th within the agency, establishing a full-fledged collaborative framework. Approximately 35 people, including selected development teams and related personnel, attended the event. They shared the future direction of the incubation project, introduced each team, and engaged in open networking activities to foster mutual understanding.
The future schedule is also being fleshed out. In September, a follow-up selection process will be conducted to support advancement and commercialization. A total of three to five teams will be selected to receive intensive support for practical development, including graphic and sound improvements, marketing, QA, and translation. In November, additional outstanding development teams will be selected and awarded a total of 140 million won in development support funds.
Additionally, a training program in Japan to strengthen global capabilities is also being implemented. A three-night, four-day program will be offered to 24 participants who pre-register, including a visit to the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) and a visit to a local Japanese game company. The goal is to strengthen the foundation for global market entry through practical, hands-on experience.
Kim Je-gon, head of the Future Industry Division at the Chungnam Content Promotion Agency, said, “The Chungnam Global Game Center aims to become a platform that goes beyond simply providing space support to indie game developers and lays the foundation for actual commercialization and global expansion.” He added, “We hope that this incubation project will further solidify the self-sustaining ecosystem of the Chungnam region’s game industry, and we will continue to provide multifaceted support so that creators can continue to grow.”
