    On February 26, 2026, global market intelligence firm Sensor Tower announced the winners of the APAC Awards 2025. This year’s ceremony marked a significant shift in the industry, officially recognizing that the boundary between “niche” indie titles and “mainstream” blockbusters has all but vanished.

    Tarkov Turns the Duck into a World Turns the World Upside Down

    The biggest surprise of the night was the crowning of Best PC Indie Game, which went to Team Soda’s (BILIBILI) Escape from Duckov. Developed by a team of just five people, this quirky parody of Escape from Tarkov proved that humor and accessibility could beat hardcore realism.

    The fact that a 5-person team (Team Soda) and a medium-sized indie studio (ProjectMoon) stood on the same stage as industry titans like Nexon and Netmarble sends a clear message: In 2026, the size of your budget matters less than the weight of your ideas.

    The Indie Rebellion Continues

    The success of these titles isn’t just a flash in the pan. Escape from Duckov recently made headlines again in February 2026 by announcing an official collaboration with the game it originally parodied, Escape from Tarkov. Meanwhile, ProjectMoon has used the stable revenue from Limbus Company to begin development on a new massive package game, ensuring that the spirit of K-indie innovation continues to thrive.
