    KOCCA Unveils 23.6 Billion KRW Game Support Plan for 2026: New AI Track and Expanded Mobile Support

    • Continuous Support: Mobile games can now receive up to 2 years of consecutive funding to bridge the gap between development and launch.
    • Full Lifecycle Aid: Support extends beyond cash grants to include Quality Assurance (QA), Focus Group Testing (FGT), and booths at global expos like Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show.

    The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) have officially opened applications for the 2026 Game Content Production Support Project. This year’s initiative is designed to bolster K-games’ global competitiveness by aggressively funding emerging technologies and high-potential platforms.

    2026 Support Tracks & Budget Allocation

    The project is divided into three main tracks, with the “General” track receiving the lion’s share of the funding.

    Key Highlights for Developers

    • AI Integration: The new AI track specifically looks for innovations where AI is a core gameplay element, such as intelligent NPC interactions or procedurally generated “open-ended” narratives.
    • Mobile Release Support: Recognizing the high cost of marketing and stabilization, KOCCA introduced a “Release Type (2nd Year)” for mobile games, allowing developers to focus on commercialization after the initial build.
    • Global Networking: Selected companies will gain access to WelCon (export marketing platform) and priority support for localizing games into multiple languages.
