Pangyo is set to transform once again into a celebration hub as GXG 2025 (Game culture X Generation), Korea’s largest urban-style game culture event, prepares to return on September 19–20. Hosted by the city of Seongnam, organizers have now unveiled this year’s festival theme and main visual poster, signaling an expanded and more immersive edition.

🎮 GXG Grows Bigger, Bolder, and Broader
Last year’s festival drew over 30,000 attendees, fusing stage performances, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and creative collaborations into a vibrant cultural playground centered around games. GXG 2025 continues this spirit under the slogan:
“Enjoying games as culture!”
This year’s key visual captures the layered charm and limitless potential of games by incorporating flowing imagery across music, video, and art—all interpreted through a symbolic portal.
Now in its third year, GXG is jointly organized by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the Game Culture Foundation, with the full support of the city of Seongnam and Mayor Shin Sang-jin. The event is rapidly evolving into a multi-generational cultural showcase.
🧭 New Layout, New Features, and a Fresh Focus
The event footprint will expand across the North-South axis of Pangyo Station Plaza, offering broader experiences and a more dynamic festival route compared to previous years.
GXG 2025 will feature five thematic programs:
- THE STAGE – Live stage shows & music
- THE PLAY – Interactive gaming experiences
- THE ART – Game-inspired exhibitions
- THE FESTA – Collaborations & pop-ups
Plus a brand-new addition: - THE FOCUS – A conference program spotlighting the intersection of technology, culture, and the future of gaming.
🏆 GXG Soundtrack Competition Finals Set for September
One of the flagship programs, the 2nd GXG SOUND TRACK competition, closed submissions on July 20 with an impressive 138 team entries. After a rigorous preliminary round, six finalists will perform live on September 19 in front of a festival audience.
More details about event schedules, booths, and programs will be released on the official GXG 2025 website throughout August.
A representative from the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency noted:
“Through initiatives like IndieCraft, game startup support, and the Seongnam Game Healing Center, the city continues to champion indie developers. We hope GXG 2025 becomes a vital bridge between generations, expanding the cultural dimensions of games and solidifying Seongnam’s role as a game culture hub.”
