The Korea Indie Game Association (KIGS) and its Vice Chairman company, From the Red, announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP). This agreement aims to foster cooperation between Korean and Filipino indie game developers and promote joint projects and industry exchanges to advance the global gaming industry.
MOU Signing at Global Game Dev Summit (GDS) in the Philippines
The MOU signing ceremony occurred on February 7 during the Global Game Dev Summit (GDS) held in Boracay, Philippines. The event was attended by:
- Seo Sang-wook, CEO of From the Red (Vice Chairman of KIGS)
- James, Chairman of GDAP
- Other key industry representatives
GDS is the first-ever gaming conference and summit in the Philippines and has now reached its second edition, attracting game industry professionals from around the world.
Game Ops’ Perspective on the Collaboration
Alexis from GAME OPS, the event organizer, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating:
“With the support of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Tourism (DOT), this event is rapidly growing. Establishing an MOU with the Korea Indie Game Association (KIGS) and the global game service platform Zempie is a significant milestone in advancing the Asian gaming market.”
Strengthening Global Collaboration for Indie Developers
As a Vice Chairman Company of KIGS, From the Red reaffirmed its commitment to supporting indie developers by:
