Gyeonggi-do is conducting 4 open calls for support projects to foster cultural technology companies and expand the content base.
Culture Technology (CT) refers to the overall technology that develops, produces, distributes, and services contents where culture art or design and technology meet. Representative examples include immersive content that provides an experience similar to the real world by applying XR (extended reality) technology, and a metaverse (extended virtual world) platform based on digital twins (real world objects are implemented in the virtual world).
The four cultural technology support projects that the provincial government is offering this time are ▲ support for commercialization of cultural technology ▲ support for production of cultural technology public contents ▲ support for immersive contents research and development ▲ support for development of local specialized contents.
First of all, ‘Support for commercialization of cultural technology’ is about providing up to KRW 100 million each to a total of 5-6 companies to discover and commercialize commercial content for cultural technology companies in the province. Not only content development, but also distribution connection and investment attraction are focused on the company’s sustainable growth.
The ‘Cultural Technology Public Content Production Support Project’ supports the production of content for the public interest using cultural technology. ‘Regional-specific content development support’ is a project that supports the development of content using Gyeonggi-do materials such as history, people, nature and life. KRW 100 million to 150 million won each will be provided for a total of 6 projects, including 2 free competitions in all fields of broadcasting, webtoon, and music content, 2 applications for animation, and 2 applications for realistic content. The application period is from March 21st to April 11th at 2pm.
The target of public offering support is companies located in Gyeonggi-do or companies scheduled to relocate to Gyeonggi-do.
