Hand-drawn Cozy Horror… Solo Developed ‘Allogroom’ Officially Released

    By Editorial Team2026년 10월 17일4 Mins Read
    • A new solo-developed title completed after years of mastering illustration, game design, and animation.
    • Missing residents and secrets hidden in the village… A strange mystery captured in 8 chapters

Allogloom, a one-person developed point-and-click adventure introduced last August, kept its promise for an October release.

Galactic Ghosty, the development label of solo developer Kate, and publisher Iceberg Interactive officially released ‘Allogroom’ on PC on the 13th.

The price is $14.99/Euro, and to celebrate the launch, it will be sold at a 10% discount on Steam for two weeks. It is available on Steam as well as major PC digital stores such as the Epic Games Store and GOG.

‘Allogroom’ is a point-and-click adventure set in ‘Gruesome Grove,’ a village where residents have been disappearing one by one. Players take on the role of the protagonist, Nora, to track down the whereabouts of the vanished residents and uncover the ancient secrets surrounding the village and the true identities of the monsters.

A strange story hidden within a cozy fairy tale

The game consists of a total of 8 chapters and 6 interconnected worlds. A feature that attracted attention when it was introduced last August is the unique visuals drawn by a solo developer.

Kate personally hand-drew most of the elements appearing in the game, from the backgrounds and characters to the bizarre creatures. By combining an art style reminiscent of a blend of Gothic and fairy tales with warm colors and direction that gradually evokes a sense of unease, she perfected the work’s unique atmosphere of “cozy yet bizarre horror.”

In the official release version, this worldview is actively utilized in the puzzles as well. You progress through the story by finding and combining items in your surroundings, conversing with residents and monsters, and investigating suspicious artifacts.

In particular, a significant portion of the puzzle is intertwined with the history of Grousem Grove and the stories of its residents. It is important to look closely at your surroundings and not miss any clues in the conversations. The process of solving the puzzle is, in itself, the process of uncovering the village’s hidden past.

As Nora leaves Grove and explores the six interconnected worlds, she gradually uncovers the reason for the residents’ disappearance and the truth hidden throughout the village.

Positive reviews from overseas media following the official launch

Initial reviews from overseas media released in conjunction with the official launch are positive.

CGM described the game as “a fun, relaxing, and charming point-and-click adventure that is especially well-suited for the spooky season.” LifeIsXbox went a step further, praising the game as “one of the great titles representing the genre” and stating that they enjoyed playing it from start to finish.

Navigames also highly praised the game’s unique character. In particular, they cited the distinctive atmosphere, a blend of Gothic, grotesque, and elegance, and the art style—completed by hand-drawing every element—as its strengths.

Initial user response has also been positive. As of the 17th, 26 user reviews have been registered on Steam, with 100% leaving positive feedback. The demo released prior to the official launch also recorded a 100% positive rating across 33 reviews.

In overseas communities, the game is receiving positive feedback for its unique hand-drawn art style, bizarre yet cozy atmosphere, and easy-to-enjoy puzzles. In particular, some users noted that it reminds them of ‘Fran Bow,’ suggesting it is a title worth checking out for those who enjoy dark fairy tales and point-and-click adventures.

A world I have built alone for years, finally officially released

‘Allogroom’ is a work that Kate completed over several years. Kate, who loved mystery games, built the world of Groosum Grove by personally learning illustration, game design, scenarios, and animation. A small number of collaborators contributed to the development process.

While the demo released last August showcased unique hand-drawn art and a peculiar worldview, this official release allows you to experience the story of Nora and Groosom Grove from beginning to end.

Kate, who has perfected her own world through years of self-study and development. With ‘Allogroom’ betting on hand-drawn art and a strange story instead of flashy graphics or a massive scale, attention is focused on whether it can maintain the positive reception from its initial launch and establish itself as a game that will be remembered by point-and-click adventure fans for a long time.
