Partnership to Strengthen Regional Talent Development and AI–Content Convergence
The Korea Artificial Intelligence Game Association (KAIGA), Webtoon Association, and Gonggam Orae Contents have signed a three-party memorandum of understanding (MOU) on November 3 at the MBC Academy Computer Education Center in Jongno, Seoul. The agreement aims to promote mutual growth and social value realization based on One Source Multi Use (OSMU) strategies.

Under the MOU, the three organizations will cooperate on:
- Enhancing youth employability and practical education programs through joint operation.
- Promoting convergence projects that adapt webtoon IPs into games and other digital content.
- Fostering regional industry ecosystems to achieve balanced development beyond the Seoul metropolitan area.
Driving AI and Game Industry Collaboration
KAIGA, a nonprofit organization leading the growth of Korea’s indie and AI-integrated gaming sector, has been actively developing next-generation game talent by incorporating AI technology into development curricula. The association has also collaborated with the MBC Academy to establish an industry-tailored training system that aligns educational programs with real-world development needs.
Through this partnership, KAIGA seeks to strengthen Korea’s OSMU industry structure by bridging webtoons and games, while supporting project-based learning and youth-centered career development initiatives that can create sustainable impact in the local content ecosystem.
Leaders Emphasize Synergy and Regional Innovation
Song Chang-ho, President of the Korea Artificial Intelligence Game Association, stated:
“This partnership marks a new beginning for cross-industry synergy between the webtoon and gaming sectors. Together with Gonggam Orae Contents, we will transform the Gyeongnam region into a hub of next-generation content innovation.”
Kim Shin, President of the Webtoon Association, added:
“Extending the creative IPs of webtoon artists into games and interactive entertainment is deeply meaningful. Through this collaboration, we’ll build new models that amplify the creative and industrial value of our artists.”
Yoon Min-hyung, CEO of Gonggam Orae Contents, commented:
“As a regional IT company, we’re proud to lead projects that fuse webtoon and gaming content. This partnership will drive real job creation and revitalize the local content industry.”
Toward an Integrated AI–Content Ecosystem
The three organizations plan to continue collaborating on AI-driven, cross-media projects that connect webtoons, games, and digital storytelling. Moving forward, they aim to expand developer support programs, promote regional employment, and strengthen the indie game ecosystem while advancing Korea’s creative content industry on both national and global levels.
