75 Indie Creators, 3 Days, and Naver Webtoon IPs
Smilegate Future Lab (Chairman Kwon Hyuk-bin) announced on October 27 that it successfully concluded the three-day game jam “Beaver Jam with Naver Webtoon”, held from October 24–26 at the Smilegate Campus, with 10 outstanding games selected.

The event brought together 75 indie creators, including planners, programmers, and designers, who developed prototype games based on popular Naver Webtoon IPs such as The Sound of Your Heart, Zombie Daughter, and Coco the Timid Tiger.
The game jam was organized as a special partnership between Smilegate Future Lab and Naver Webtoon, aimed at fostering creative reinterpretations of beloved webtoon IPs and expanding cross-media storytelling opportunities between comics and games.
Creative Process and Mentorship
During the three-day event, participants formed teams on the first day, sharing their ideas and interpretations of the assigned IPs before diving into full-scale development on the second day.
Unity Korea experts, invited as technical mentors and sponsors of the upcoming BeaverRocks Festival, provided real-time guidance and consulting sessions throughout the jam, helping teams refine gameplay, improve technical stability, and enhance overall presentation quality.
Notable Entries and Selections
On the final day, participants showcased their completed prototypes in a live demo and judging session. After on-site evaluations, 10 standout projects were recognized for their creativity and execution.
Among them were:
- Chicken of Steel and Isekai Jo-Seok (based on The Sound of Your Heart)
- Zombie Run, Zombie, You’re Kidnapped!, and Zombie? No, Human Maker! (based on Zombie Daughter)
Games based on Coco the Timid Tiger also received notably high praise, with five different teams earning top marks for their charming reinterpretations and emotional storytelling.
The selected teams received prizes and certificates, and their works will be featured at the “Naver Webtoon Special Pavilion” during the BeaverRocks 2025 Indie Game & Culture Festival, to be held from December 5–7 at DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) in Seoul.
Expanding the Horizon of Creative Collaboration
Hwang Joo-hoon, Team Leader at Smilegate Future Lab, commented:
“It was inspiring to witness creators push the boundaries of imagination while reinterpreting Naver Webtoon’s iconic IPs. We’re excited to showcase the diverse, inventive games born from Beaver Jam at BeaverRocks 2025.”
