The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Hwang Hee) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (CEO Hyun-rae Cho, hereafter referred to as Konjin-Won) announced on the 5th that they will recruit a total of 29 or so in 2022 preliminary start-up teams for the 1st Global Game Hub Center and Game Venture 4.0.
The Global Game Hub Center is located on the 8th to 9th floors of the 2nd Techno Valley LH Business Growth Center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do. Small and medium-sized game companies with potential to enter overseas markets, developers with less than a year of founding, and prospective founders can grow into game developers with competency. We are actively supporting occupancy space and capacity building programs.
Residents of the Global Game Hub Center are recruiting small and medium-sized game companies in Korea, and depending on the minimum number of resident workers, they can designate and apply for independent office spaces of various sizes, such as medium-sized (23 to 30 pyeong) and small (7 to 19 pyeong). In particular, this year, the full rent subsidy benefit for tenants to overcome COVID-19, which has been conducted since July 2020, will be extended to the end of February 2023, and 50% of the management fee will be provided.
Selected tenants can utilize the latest equipment and facilities for mobile/VR game test bed for game development, support for mobile in-depth QA and consulting, and support for game development software (Adobe, Autodesk, Unity). In addition, ▲game consulting (game production, publishing/service, securing funds, publicity, marketing, overseas expansion, etc.) ▲management support consulting (tax/accounting, law, human resources/labor, etc.) ▲recruitment support ▲support for strengthening the ability to attract investment, etc. You can also enjoy a variety of support benefits for capacity building.
In addition, ‘Game Venture 4.0’ for new developers and prospective entrepreneurs with less than one year of establishment can use the common office space with full support for the moving-in cost, and receive the same facilities and development programs as the tenants of the Global Game Hub Center.
From this year, Conjinone will provide support for an additional one-year tenancy period in addition to the one-time (one-year) extension opportunity for companies with excellent occupancy performance for resident companies, including existing tenants. In addition, Conjin One plans to expand IR consulting support to strengthen tenant companies’ ability to attract investment.
Conjinwon President Cho Hyun-rae said, “Following last year, we are working together to overcome COVID-19 by subsidizing the full rent to the tenants of the Global Game Hub Center this year. We will support game developers so that they can grow into competent companies.”
Companies and prospective founders who want to move into the Global Game Hub can prepare the relevant documents and apply online at the Conjin One website by 11 am on Monday, April 18. The tenancy period is a maximum of 4 years (basic 2 years + extension 1 year + excellent 1 year) for resident companies, and up to 2 years for Game Venture 4.0 (basic 1 year + extension 1 year).
