Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it will recruit participants for the ’16th Gyeonggi Game Audition’ to discover potential star games by the 23rd.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Province, organized by the Gyeonggi Content Agency, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, this event is a representative game audition, which started its 8th year this year, starting with the first in 2015.
Anyone who can plan and develop games in the metropolitan area (Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon) can participate in the audition. The game to be submitted must be developed within the first half of 2023, and the executable file (test build) must be submitted before the first audition after passing the document screening.
The audition consists of three stages: document screening, 1st audition, and final audition. The final audition plans to select the final 5 games (TOP5) out of the 10 games (TOP10) that passed the first audition. The final audition will be held in the form of ‘speed dating’, in which participants take turns talking with a total of 20 or more professional judges in each category.
Participants can receive consulting on the game from various perspectives through speed dating screening, and it has the advantage that the burden of public auditions is somewhat reduced.
If selected as TOP 5 in the final audition, ▲ 1st place (1 team) 50 million won, 2nd place (2 teams) 30 million won, 3rd place (2 teams) 20 million won, etc. A total of 150 million won in support ▲ Pangyo Giving additional points for moving into the Gyeonggi Global Game Center ▲ Follow-up support programs such as QA (quality assurance), sound, video, translation, and marketing are provided.
In addition, all those who advanced to the final audition (TOP10) are ▲qualified to apply for the follow-up support program ▲various services provided by Gyeonggi Game Audition sponsors (One Store, NHN cloud, AWS, MS, Akamai, KOCHAVA) ▲Networking with all game audition players etc are provided.
Gyeonggi-do Future Growth Policy Officer Kim Gyu-sik said, “Gyeonggi Game Audition is the gateway to indie games where talented developers gather, and it is positioned as a representative business that the game industry pays attention to. We plan to strengthen exchanges between the two to resolve the dissatisfaction of the past, so we ask for the participation of many game developers.”
