- ‘Daksa RPG,’ developed and serviced by a one-person game developer, breaks the platform’s highest sales record.
- Cumulative sales of ‘Punkland’ as a single game exceeded KRW 1.5 billion in 10 months of service.
- ‘Punkland’ plans to establish a platform structure that allows multiple games to be successful over the long term.
Supercat (CEO Kim Young-eul) announced on the 31st that ‘Daksa RPG: Raising a Farming Hero (from now on referred to as Doksa RPG)’, which is being serviced on its game platform ‘PUNKLAND’, broke the platform’s highest sales record for a single game.
‘Daksa RPG’, released in July 2023, is the work of 33games, a one-man developer who introduced various popular games in Punkland. It has secured a solid user base within Punkland through its gameplay, which combines the characteristics of idle raising and MMORPG, regular updates, and user-centered operation.
‘Daksa RPG’ achieved sales of 100 million won 13 days after its release and 500 million won in 50 days, setting the record for the highest box office success in the shortest period. Then, in May this year, sales exceeded 1.5 billion won, breaking the record for the most significant single-game sales. Even now, after ten months of service, it remains at the top of the popular game rankings in ‘Punkland’, and the number of monthly active users (MAU) is continuously increasing, so it is expected to be a long-term hit.
‘Punkland’, serviced by Supercat, is a comprehensive game platform that game creators and users can enjoy together. As a game development tool and platform, updates are continuously being made to improve development convenience and usability, such as developer console functions and point systems. Thanks to this, the influx of new game developers and users is steadily increasing.
Currently, in addition to ‘Daksa RPG’, ‘Destroyed Earth! Dungeon Rebirth’, ‘Gracia Online 2’, and ‘Asran Senki’ are consistently receiving positive responses and generating stable profits, while games introduced by new developers such as ‘RPG Like’, ‘Change RPG’, and ‘Reverse RPG’ are also receiving positive responses. ‘Punkland’ is ranked at the top of the popular game rankings.
Ha Young-min, Punkland team leader, said, “The achievements of ‘Daksa RPG’ this time are significant at the platform level in that the success at the beginning of the launch was not just a one-time success but is leading to a long-term success.” He added, “It is a game that both developers and users are satisfied with. “By establishing a platform ecosystem, we will continue to secure success stories where multiple games are successful over a long period,” he said.
