The K-indie scene continues to push boundaries as developer Bucketplay (CEO Ho-jin Hyeon) officially launches the Steam Next Fest demo for its highly anticipated action roguelite, Reloadian. Following a successful surprise open beta on the PS5 earlier this year, the studio is now inviting the global PC community to test its unique blend of build-focused combat and competitive multiplayer.

Roguelike Growth Meets Cooperative Strategy
At its core, Reloadian is a fast-paced action game where every run is defined by creative build experimentation. While solo play offers a deep dive into synergy hunting, the game’s true innovation lies in its multiplayer integration.
A Trio of Modes: How to Play
| Mode | Core Focus | Strategy |
| Solo Play | Build Optimization | Experimenting with unique weapon combinations to find the “perfect” run. |
| Co-op Play | Timing & Synergy | Beyond traditional “Tank/DPS” roles, success depends on synchronizing burst damage and defensive windows. |
| PvP Battle | Adaptability | Combatants fight in rounds using randomized weapon pools to prevent a “fixed meta” from forming. |
The “No-Meta” PvP Challenge
The most ambitious claim from Bucketplay is their approach to PvP. In most competitive games, a “best” build (the meta) eventually dominates. Reloadian attempts to shatter this by introducing randomized weapon and deck pools for every round of PvP.
In this mode, players race to 100 points. Because the tools provided are unpredictable, victory isn’t about who found the best guide online, but who can adapt their strategy to the hand they were dealt on the fly. This “meta-less” design is currently the talk of the community, with early feedback focusing on balancing dash invincibility and stamina management.
Building with the Community
Bucketplay has already established a reputation for transparency. During the recent PS5 beta, the team was praised for its rapid response to player feedback regarding combat tempo and “hand feel.”
“Our goal is to make a game where the process of finding a build is just as fun as the combat itself,” said a spokesperson from Bucketplay. The studio is actively monitoring Steam community forums and Discord to refine the weapon balance before the official launch.
Reloadian is an ambitious attempt to bridge the gap between the solitary joy of a roguelike and the adrenaline of a competitive fighter. Whether they can successfully balance these two polar-opposite genres remains to be seen, but the Steam Next Fest demo is the perfect place for players to find out.
