- A new title from Turkish indie studio Babs Games, developed and published entirely in-house
- A chair chase for up to 8 players… A 7-round showdown featuring parkour and weapons
“Chair Chase,” an online party game developed by the Turkish indie game studio Babs Games, will be officially released on the PC (Steam) platform on November 2.
‘Chair Chase’ is a 2- to 8-player multiplayer party game that combines the rules of familiar games like tag or musical chairs with a dynamic chase. Players must run back and forth across a large map and engage in fierce competition to capture the ‘living chair’ that escapes unpredictably.
Currently, tags such as party game, parkour, 3D platformer, and casual are registered on the Steam store page, raising expectations that it will showcase colorful and fast-paced action.
7 rounds of chasing, sitting, and defending chairs
The basic rules of ‘Chair Chase’ resemble the game of musical chairs. When music plays, chairs move around the map and run away from the player. Players must run through a course filled with obstacles, and catch up to the chairs by jumping or dashing. They can also push other players to outrun competitors.
Even if you succeed in sitting on the chair, you cannot let your guard down. A brief battle of balance ensues, and other players try to knock the person sitting off.
If you survive until the end, you earn points and a key, and the chair disappears and reappears from a pipe somewhere in the house. The game proceeds with the player who has collected the most points by the end of Round 7 winning.
Earn points with weapons, shop items, and parkour
Points can be earned in various ways in addition to securing chairs. Treasure chests scattered throughout the map can be opened with keys obtained by grabbing chairs, and these chests contain items that aid in the chase.
You earn points by running through the parkour course or hindering other players. The points you collect can be used to buy items at the shop that appears between rounds.
The game also features weapons for chasing and holding each other back. Examples revealed by the developers include a jetpack that allows you to fly toward a chair and a glue gun that holds a friend in place. Since other players can also use these weapons, breathtaking situations unfold as they chase chairs while keeping each other in check.
Play with friends or participate in public matches
Players can create a lobby to play with friends or join public matches. Streaming support is also specified on the Steam page.
The setting is inside a large house. The developers introduced the game by stating that each round unfolds differently, mixing chases, parkour, mistakes, close comebacks, and weapon usage.
Babs Games, responsible for development and publishing, reveals AI utilization
The game was developed and published entirely by the Turkish indie studio Babs Games. According to the AI-generated content guide on the Steam page, AI tools were reportedly used as an auxiliary tool for code and music production during the development process. The development team stated that the AI-generated output was reviewed and modified before being incorporated into the game.
Chair Chase supports 31 languages, including Korean. Korean supports the interface and subtitles, while full audio is available only in English. The minimum specifications are Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i3-4130 or AMD FX-4300, 4GB of RAM, a GTX 750 Ti-class graphics card, and 2GB of storage.
Chair Chase is a delightful party game that blends parkour, weapon brawls, and a shop system with the ingenious idea of a “chair that absolutely hates having someone sit on it.” As music plays, an unimaginable free-for-all unfolds within intuitive rules where you chase chairs and tenaciously defend your position.
If you are looking for a casual, fun multiplayer game to enjoy with friends, you should check out ‘Chair Chase,’ which is scheduled for release on November 2nd.
