Indie games and Seongsu’s pop-up culture are meeting again. IGG Korea’s second ALT+G opens tomorrow, Friday, October 9, from noon to 7:30 p.m. at Platz2 on Yeonmujang-gil. It is a small festival built on a simple bet: a handful of well-chosen games, shown properly, in one of Seoul’s busiest street-culture neighborhoods.

What’s On: 13 Games Indoors, Side Programs Outside
The indoor game exhibition is again the center of the event, with 13 indie games waiting for visitors. In the courtyard in the middle of the space, side content fills out the day: food and drink, tarot and caricature stands, and DJ performances. The setup is meant for both people who came to play and people who came to Seongsu for a stroll and wandered in.
What the First Edition Proved
ALT+G debuted last year as the first event hosted by IGG Korea, the Google-sponsored indie game community IGG (Indie Games Group) Korea. It ran on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 97-1 Yeonmujang-gil in Seongdong-gu.
The first edition went beyond a game exhibition. Alongside the indie showcase, it offered a merchandise flea market, hot dogs and Red Bull drinks, and music from seven DJs, positioning itself as a festival to enjoy like a party. On site were 10 playable titles and 4 games at the flea market.
What Sets ALT+G Apart
Large events such as PlayExpo, BIC, and Burning Beaver are stages for showing a lot. ALT+G is built to show a few carefully chosen works well. For general visitors who can get lost among dozens or hundreds of booths, 13 games can be a strength, because it is a size at which you can play every game in a day and talk to the developers.
Another point worth noting is that indie games are stepping out of the gamer-only exhibition hall and into Seongsu’s street culture and pop-up circuit. What indie developers lack most is the chance to meet first-time players, and Seongsu is a neighborhood that offers those encounters in dense supply.
Who This Is For
Strong fit for: Seoul residents and visitors looking for a casual way into indie games; players who prefer a small, curated lineup over a sprawling expo; indie developers who want exposure to non-gamer foot traffic; anyone planning a Hangul Day outing around Seongsu.
Cautious fit for: anyone who needs to know the lineup or admission terms in advance, since the participating games, whether entry is free, and any reservation requirements are listed only on IGG Korea’s Instagram; visitors arriving late, since the festival closes at 7:30 p.m.
Less ideal for: those hoping for a trade-show or industry-networking program; international readers, as the event is in person in Seoul and details are on Korean-language channels.
The Takeaway
ALT+G’s pitch is scale as a feature. Thirteen games, one afternoon, and a courtyard with music and food make a festival where visitors can finish what they came for and meet the people who made it. The first edition showed that indie games can sit comfortably inside Seongsu’s pop-up culture. The second edition, a year later, is that experiment on a slightly larger scale.
