    Slay the Spire 2 surpasses 570,000 concurrent users in just four days, entering the Steam Top 20 of All Time.

    Mega Crit’s deck-building roguelike sequel , Slay the Spire 2, has been receiving explosive responses since its Steam Early Access launch on March 5th, breaking daily concurrent player records.

    According to SteamDB statistics, the game reached a peak concurrent player count of 557,054 on March 8th, and has since risen to 573,000, entering the top 20 of Steam’s all-time concurrent player rankings . This figure surpasses the all-time concurrent player records of Call of Duty, Terraria, and Valheim.

    This achievement also solidifies Slay the Spire 2 as one of Steam’s biggest hits of 2026. The gap is even more striking when compared to Bungie’s AAA new game, Marathon, which was released on the same day and had a peak concurrent player count of 88,337.

    This is an unprecedented achievement even within the genre. It holds the record for the most concurrent users in a deckbuilder game on Steam, surpassing the records of Hades 2, Ballatro, Vampire Survivors, and Mugenix. Among roguelikes overall, it ranks second, behind Elden Ring and Nightrain.

    It currently holds a 97-point rating (overwhelmingly positive) from over 15,000 Steam reviews. Megacrit co-founder Anthony Giovannetti expressed his surprise, saying, “We’re completely overwhelmed.”

    Slay the Spire 2 expands on the core gameplay of its predecessor and introduces a four-player online co-op mode for the first time in the series. The development team plans to continuously expand the content during the Early Access period, targeting a full version (1.0) release within approximately one to two years.

    Slay the Spire 2 , which has been enjoying record-breaking concurrent user growth since its release, is drawing attention to see how far it can continue to set new records during its Early Access period. The sequel to Slay the Spire, a symbol of the deck-building roguelike genre, is drawing keen attention from both users and the industry alike, wondering whether it can once again set a new standard for the genre.
