Smilegate Future Lab announced on the 15th that it will be recruiting participants for the 16th Open Beta Test Day (from now on ‘OBT’) in the indie game category of Smilegate Membership (from now on ‘SGM’) from today until July 25th through the Future Lab website.
The SGM Indie Game Division is an indie game creation support program hosted by Future Lab. We provide various benefits, such as space and subsidies so that developers can focus on creation. In this 16th session, 15 teams, including IgeGegaim and Atriel Athanasia, are participating and developing indie games.
This OBT will be held online for 13 days from July 30th to August 11th. During this period, participants can play games developed by SGM 16 and fill out and submit answers according to the questionnaire provided. The survey results will be delivered to the 16th SGM and used to update the game’s quality.
Participants who provide feedback on the game can receive prizes such as giftcons and computer supplies. In particular, computer equipment manufacturer Hanmi Micronics provides products such as keyboards and mice. Hanmi Micronics agrees with SGM’s business significance in supporting indie game creators and has sponsored SGM Open Beta Day since 2022.
“User feedback is a vital asset in the game development process,” said Future Lab team leader Hwang Joo-hoon. “This OBT will be an opportunity for the 16th SGM teams to collect valuable user feedback, and indie game users will have the opportunity to play novel games in advance.” “I hope it will be a good experience to try,” he said.
