The training period for game talents is 2 years in total, and in the first year, basic education and short-term tasks (projects) required for game developers are conducted. centered education.

In particular, from the beginning of the opening of the school, the direction of education has been customized to the field and differentiated education is implemented so that trainees can be put into practice immediately after graduation so that they can do the work desired by the company. As a result, companies have a very high preference for game talents.

As a result, despite its short history, the Game Human Resources Institute, which opened in 2019, achieved a phenomenal record of 77% employment rate as 37 of the first 48 graduates from last year found employment or start a business. Start-up was completed.

Based on these remarkable achievements, the number of faculty members in the Game Talent Center has been increased from three to six this year. When the second campus opens next year, the number of trainees will be expanded from the current 65 per year to 120 per year.

Game is reflected in the development of representative fields of Korean content in National Task 58 (spreading the appeal of Korean content to the world) and promoted as a core task of ‘Game Talent’

The government will reflect the game as a representative field that can spread the appeal of Korean (K) contents to the world, taking into account the proportion of domestic contents industry exports * by sector, and promote the reinforcement of game talent as a core task. . In particular, it plans to strengthen the training of game talents, support each game development stage (planning-production-exploitation), and nurture the overall ecosystem of the game industry by protecting the rights and interests of game users.

    * Out of the total exports of the content industry in ’20 of $11.92 billion, the amount of exports in the game sector was $8.19 billion (68.7%)

A policy manager at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “Now 30 of the 2nd semester graduates are employed early, and the employment inquiries from companies are steadily coming in, so it is very encouraging that the 2nd semester graduates’ employment rate will exceed last year.” We expect that the game talent center will be firmly established as the cradle of game talent by actively responding to the needs of companies by increasing the number of game talents.”
