    Gyeonggi-do, recruiting trainees for the second half of the ‘Gyeonggi Metaverse Academy’

    ○ Recruitment of ‘2022 Gyeonggi Metaverse Academy’ advanced course trainees by August 17th
    ○ As an in-depth course following the basic course, the metaverse/extended reality (XR) developer training course is operated.
    ○ A total of 25 people will be selected for professional developers, and all free education will be provided.

    – Support for operation of education programs tailored to industry needs and linkage with employment and start-up programs

    Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it will recruit trainees for the ‘2022 Gyeonggi Metaverse Academy’ in-depth course by the 17th to foster metaverse professionals.

    Gyeonggi Metaverse Academy educates the entire process of content production, from planning, development, and design to nurture metaverse (3D virtual world) platform and content developers.

    The first half is a basic course, and the second half is an in-depth course for professional developers. The basic course is currently about to be completed at the end of August, and the process of connecting graduates with companies through the linked employment start-up program is in progress.

    The in-depth course in the second half of the year consists of a focus on technology demand for metaverse content creators. It supports practical education that can apply the latest metaverse technology through specialized education for each field, such as planning, development, and design.

    In this recruitment, a total of 25 intensive course trainees will be selected and the training program will be operated for three months from September. Selected trainees can participate in the training at the Gyeonggi VRAR (Virtual/Augmented Reality) production base center located in Gwanggyo without any additional training costs, and receive support through online and offline lectures for a total of 100 hours.

    Contents of the education include ▲Metaverse platform-based content production ▲Realistic technology (VR·AR·XR) content creation tool (engine·tool) centered programming and 3D modeling (3D modeling) graphic education ▲task performance data book (Project Portfolio) Planning and production ▲ Expert mentoring and special lectures ▲ Hackathon competitions and awards.

    A certificate of completion and a Unity education certification certificate, which is a production tool (engine tool), are issued to trainees who have completed the training. In particular, the provincial governor commendation and the opportunity to take the Unity qualification test will be provided to those with excellent grades. In addition, it supports the connection of graduates and demanding companies through the job-startup linkage program.

    Applications for participation can be submitted online by the 17th after checking the announcement of education and events on the website of the Gyeonggi Content Agency (www.gcon.or.kr).
