    ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022’, 130 exhibited works

    Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun), Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency (President Jung Moon-seop), and Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (Chairman Seo Tae-geon, hereinafter BIC Organizing Committee) held the ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022 (BIC Festival 2022, hereinafter BIC Festival 2022)’ in September. It was announced on the 2nd that the selected works of .

    ‘BIC Festival 2022’ received a total of 332 works, up 39% from last year, and 130 works were selected through a final screening process.

    64 works were selected in the general category, and 38 works were selected in the rookie category (works by students or unemployed under the age of 25). In the section, 27 works and 2 works were selected respectively.

    In particular, overseas participating countries counted as 15 countries this year will also confirm participation in face-to-face exhibitions one after another, and will communicate directly with Korean gamers in September. In order to prevent the spread of Corona, active inquiries from developers who want to share various feedbacks and opinions while solving the previous non-face-to-face communication are continuing.

    Detailed information on the works that have been finalized for the exhibition will be released on the BIC official website in August. Prior to this, the BIC organizing committee will hold a demo day on the BIC official website from August 4th.

    ‘Big Connectors 2nd’, selected last July, will perform various activities such as writing reviews during the Demo Day, and will serve as a guide for visitors to enjoy ‘BIC Festival 2022’ more comfortably.

    This event, which will be held simultaneously at the Busan Port International Exhibition and Convention Center and the BIC official website on September 1, is open to anyone interested in indie games. It is expected that the event will be enriched with various contents such as conferences on various topics, original events, and surprise appearance of BIC’s Virtual Influencer Zone.

    Tae-Gon Seo, chairman of the Busan Indie Connect Festival organizing committee, said, “Thanks to the support for the BIC Festival, which is returning to the offline scale, which has been greatly expanded by resuming participation by general visitors for the first time in three years after the corona virus, a total of 130 works have been confirmed this year.” , “We ask for your anticipation and support for the BIC Festival 2022, which will be enriched by the participation of foreign developers, who were held non-face-to-face to prevent the spread of Corona and the new section added this year.”

    Jung Moon-seop, head of the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the developers who participated in the BIC Festival with their passion for indie games, and look forward to the opportunity to present the selected works. We will prepare without shortage and hold a BIC festival that everyone can be satisfied with.”

    Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency is operating the Busan Global Game Center with the support of Busan Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korea Creative Content Agency to foster the game industry in Busan. Together with the organizing committee, the BIC Festival is held every year.
