    Smilegate Stove Takes Center Stage at Taipei Game Show 2026 to Globalize K-Indie Titles

    Smilegate announced today that its global game platform, Stove, will participate in Taipei Game Show (TGS) 2026, held from January 29 to February 1 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

    As a premier event in the Asia-Pacific region attracting over 350,000 visitors annually, TGS serves as a vital barometer for industry trends. Smilegate aims to leverage this massive stage to expand the reach of the “K-Game Universe” by supporting domestic indie developers and showcasing the competitive edge of the Stove platform.

    Main Sponsor of “Indie House”

    Smilegate is stepping up as the Main Title Sponsor for the Indie House in the B2C zone. The Indie House is a dedicated space where global indie developers reveal their latest works and interact directly with players.

    Operating under the theme “STOVE PLAY TOUR” and the slogan “Open Smilegate, Explore K-Game Worlds,” the Stove brand booth will feature:

    • Game Trial Zones: Where visitors can play featured K-indie titles.
    • Developer Meeting Spaces: Facilitating direct communication between creators and fans.
    • Platform Info Corners: Offering insights into the Stove ecosystem, along with exclusive coupons and merchandise.

    The Featured “K-Indie 6” Lineup

    Smilegate has curated a diverse selection of six titles that represent the broad spectrum of the Korean indie scene:

    1. Alleyway: Ghost Mark (골목길: 귀흔): A highly anticipated Korean-style horror game.
    2. Storm Maid (폭풍의 메이드): A stylish action title from the Stove publishing lineup.
    3. Saniyang Lab (사니양 연구실): A unique simulation experience.
    4. No Overload 2: Summer Food Stall (과몰입금지2: 여름포차): A casual narrative-driven adventure.
    5. Archetype Blue (아키타입 블루): A deck-building roguelike with deep strategic elements.
    6. Player Who Can’t Level Up (레벨업 못하는 플레이어): An action RPG based on popular webnovel/webtoon IP.

    A Hybrid “Online & Offline” Strategy

    Smilegate is not limiting the experience to those physically present in Taipei. Starting January 28, an Online Showcase will launch on the Stove platform.

    • Global Access: Users worldwide can play demos of the featured titles.
    • Exclusive Content: The showcase will feature “Behind the Scenes” videos and developer interviews.
    • Limited Benefits: Discount coupons will be provided to online participants, effectively linking the offline excitement with Stove’s digital commerce strengths.

    Sharing a Vision for the Indie Ecosystem

    During the Asia Pacific Game Summit (APGS), Smilegate will deliver a keynote titled “New Paths for Indie Game Growth and Success: The Smilegate Stove Platform and Ecosystem.” The presentation will detail Stove’s developer support programs, marketing collaboration models, and revenue-sharing structures. This is particularly targeted at global developers looking to enter the Asian market, emphasizing Stove’s localization and publishing services.


    Strategic Context: Capturing the Greater China Market

    This marks Smilegate’s third major offline push in the Greater China region, following successful appearances at WePlay Expo 2025 (Shanghai) and G-EIGHT 2025 (Taiwan). By maintaining a continuous presence, Smilegate is building long-term brand awareness and securing a foothold in one of the world’s most populous gaming markets.

    “Through Taipei Game Show, we want to showcase the excellence of K-indie games and establish Stove as a global bridge connecting creators and players,” said a Smilegate representative.
