    Hades II Reclaims the Throne: Crowned 2025’s Best Game on Metacritic

    Supergiant Games has done it again. After its official launch on September 25, 2025, Hades II has ascended to the pinnacle of critical acclaim, securing a staggering 95 on Metacritic. This score not only makes it the highest-rated game released in 2025 but also earns it the prestigious “MUST-PLAY” badge, a title reserved only for the elite few that maintain a 90+ score with significant critical volume.

    The game achieved a 95 on both PC and Nintendo Switch, while the newly released Nintendo Switch 2 version follows closely with a 94.

    Melinoë’s Odyssey: Surpassing the Original

    The sequel shifts focus to Melinoë, the Princess of the Underworld and sister to the first game’s protagonist, Zagreus. Backed by the gods of Olympus, she embarks on a perilous journey to defeat Chronos, the Titan of Time.

    While keeping the DNA of the original, Hades II introduces massive systemic expansions:
