Korean Shamanism Meets Pixel Art: ‘Ghost Deliverer’ Launches in Early Access on December 19

    By Editorial Team2025년 12월 10일Updated:2026년 03월 08일3 Mins Read

Korean indie team Team DADA has announced that its anticipated occult adventure title Ghost Deliverer will launch in Early Access on December 19 at 6 PM KST for Steam and STOVE.

Inspired by classic horror games built in RPG Maker, Ghost Deliverer is a top-down pixel-art Korean occult fantasy adventure. Players follow Hyesung, a young girl with spiritual sight, as she joins the secret exorcist organization known as the National Exorcist Association to uncover the truth behind her mother’s death—and grow into a full-fledged exorcist herself.

    Early Access Details

    Platforms: Steam, STOVE
Chapters Included: 3 chapters (including the demo chapter)
Estimated Playtime: 5–6 hours (covers the first half of the game)
Future Content: Remaining chapters—including the final Chapter 5—will be added as free updates, alongside new side quests, broader language support, and overall quality improvements.

The full version will feature all main story chapters, expanded lore, additional quests, and enhanced localization options.

A Korean Occult World Reimagined Through Pixel Art

Set in a world where gifted exorcists protect humanity from malicious spirits, Ghost Deliverer blends traditional Korean spiritual motifs—such as golden ropes (geumjul), talismans, and shamanic attire—with the everyday backdrop of a contemporary high school. This culturally rich aesthetic sets it apart from standard horror adventure titles.

As Hyesung, players travel between the ordinary world and spiritual realms called “barriers,” manifestations of vengeful ghosts fueled by trauma and regret. The contrast between two mirrored worlds becomes central to the storytelling.

    Exorcism Through Narrative—Not Combat

One of the game’s defining features is its non-violent approach to exorcism. Instead of traditional combat-based banishing, players uncover the origins of a spirit’s grievance and use ritualistic, story-driven methods reminiscent of han-puri (Korean-style emotional resolution rites).

Players must gather objects connected to the spirit’s lingering resentment and piece together the emotional narrative behind each haunting. The game’s unique approach turns exorcism into an investigative and empathetic experience rather than a physical confrontation.

From Webtoon to Game: A Four-Year Journey

Ghost Deliverer originally began as a webtoon created by artists Kim Nahyun and Jung Seoyeon, serialized on Naver Webtoon in 2020. After ending the series due to the difficult pace of weekly updates, the creators regrouped with new team members through the Gwangju Global Game Center’s Indie Stars support program and transitioned the project into a full game.

Development has been challenging. With most team members working full-time at game studios, communication often took place entirely online, and achieving a unified art style required additional structural changes—such as appointing an art director and setting clearer milestones.

Despite these hurdles, the project has steadily taken shape over four years with strong community support.

Demo Available Now — Early Access Begins December 19

A demo version of Ghost Deliverer is currently available on Steam and STOVE Indie, offering a taste of the game’s atmosphere and narrative. With Early Access right around the corner, anticipation is growing for how modern players will receive this culturally rich reinterpretation of Korean shamanic folklore.
