Taiwanese Solo Developer ‘Rami: A Cup of Code and Coffee’ Releases Free Steam Trial

    By Editorial Team2026년 10월 13일4 Mins Read
    • New Game ‘Rami’ by Taiwanese Solo Developer Participates in Steam Cooking Festival & Next Fest
    • A 3D cafe management game where you run the cafe left by your grandfather with an AI robot girl.
    • Winner of the Popularity Award in the Game Category at the 2026 Bahamut ACG Creation Contest, scheduled for release in 2027.

“Lami: A Cup of Code and Coffee,” a 3D casual game currently under development by Lemist Game Studio, led by Taiwanese one-person indie game developer Lemi, has begun distributing a demo version on Steam. The game is accelerating development with the goal of a full release in 2027.

‘Rami: A Cup of Code and Coffee’ stands out for its unique blend of genres. It combines the core ‘cafe management simulation’ with rhythm action elements and ‘exploration adventure’ elements that take you outside the town, offering a diverse and enjoyable gameplay experience.

The cafe left by Grandfather, and the AI robot girl ‘Rami’

The protagonist is a young man weary of his repetitive daily life. After receiving news and a letter that his grandfather has passed away, he quits his job and returns to a seaside village.

There, they inherit an old cafe filled with memories and awaken ‘Rami,’ an AI robot girl created by their grandfather, in a hidden laboratory on the second floor. Afterwards, the two run the cafe together and uncover the secrets left by their grandfather one by one.

The game adds to the visual enjoyment by adopting a warm and emotional Japanese-style subculture art. The Steam store page describes it as aiming to provide an experience where gamers living in complex modern society can momentarily escape their daily routines and enjoy “a comfortable and healing time, like drinking a warm cup of coffee.”

From running a cafe to rhythm programming and exploring beyond the village

Players handle customer orders and decorate the cafe with Rami. Furniture and decorations can be arranged as desired, and the cafe’s operation effects vary depending on the layout. In the workshop, players can gather materials to craft items and furniture, and upgrade facilities to enhance Rami’s abilities.

There is also a rhythm game that reflects the protagonist’s engineering career. It involves performing development tasks to the rhythm of the music, creating new features, or repairing broken systems.

When you go outside the cafe, you explore various areas such as forests and lakesides to collect materials like ore and wood. During the process of dismantling artificial debris ‘Shatter’ that fell from the sky with a laser cutter, you also face off against ‘Cleaners,’ collection robots that regard the player as an enemy.

In addition, the story unfolds as a crisis descends upon peaceful daily life as a strange light appears in the sky. The free trial version consists of approximately 30 minutes to an hour of content.

Unveiled: Programming, Art, and Design All Developed by a Single Person, Utilizing AI

Developer Remy handled programming, art, and design all by himself. At the ‘2026 Bahamut ACG Creation Contest’ hosted by the Taiwanese game and animation community Bahamut, he received the Popularity Award, selected by fan vote among 66 entries in the game category.

The Steam page also discloses details regarding the use of generative AI. The developer stated that they received assistance from AI in the production process for programming, scenarios, music, textures, and artwork, including protagonist and item icons.

The explanation is that the AI-generated content was not used as is but underwent review, modification, and supplementation, which refined the atmosphere and details and reduced the development period.

“I wanted to give you a brief, enjoyable, and relaxing time amidst your busy daily life,” Remy said. “I hope you can take a break like a warm cup of coffee and experience the romance where technology and handiwork coexist.”

Participating in Steam Cooking Festival and Next Fest… Scheduled for release in 2027

‘Rami: A Cup of Code and Coffee’ will participate in the Steam Cooking Festival held from October 13 to 20 and the Steam Next Fest held from October 20 to 26.

The official release is scheduled for 2027, and the Steam store page displays “Coming Soon” instead of a specific release date. The game supports interfaces and subtitles in 16 languages, including Korean.
