- New protagonist Arai-guri appears… turning a small gas station into a bustling winter resort
- From ice rinks to ski resorts, accommodations, and equipment rentals… Deeper resort management draws attention
The Last Gas Station, a healing management simulation released last April, is now turning a quiet gas station into a winter resort.
Alawar, the developer and publisher, revealed the new DLC ‘Winter Resort’ for ‘The Last Gas Station’ on October 8 (local time) and announced that it will be released on Steam on November 18.
This DLC begins several years after the events of the main story. The owner of the gas station has also changed. Players take on the role of the new protagonist, Arai-guri, and must develop the small gas station, where travelers used to stop by briefly, into a winter resort equipped with a ski slope and accommodations.
The last gas station revisited years later… This time the owner is ‘Arai-guri’
‘The Last Gas Station’ is a management simulation where you operate an old gas station left in a remote wilderness in an era of mass-market electric vehicles. It features a unique structure where you run the gas station and shop during the day and track down the mystery surrounding the missing previous owner at night.
In the new DLC ‘Winter Resort’, time moves forward several years. The owner of the familiar gas station is replaced by a new Arai-guri, and a new story begins.
The biggest change is the customers’ purpose. In the original game, you dealt with travelers who stopped by briefly to refuel or buy things, but this time you must welcome tourists visiting to spend their vacation.
The new goal is to develop the small gas station from a simple rest area into a winter resort where people stay for several days.
From gas stations to winter resorts… from ski resorts to ice rinks
To build a winter resort, new facilities must be constructed and operated one by one.
Players can build ice rinks and ski slopes and run winter tour programs. They must also provide cozy accommodations for tourists. As facilities expand, more tourists can be accommodated, but the number of elements to manage also increases accordingly.
The existing gas station building will also be utilized for a new purpose. The space behind the store, previously used as a warehouse, can be reorganized and converted into a winter sports equipment rental shop and a restaurant.
Rental shops must provide tourists with necessary winter equipment and manage inventory. Restaurants order ingredients and prepare food themselves for hungry customers.
However, this does not mean that the original gas station duties disappear. The existing tasks of managing the cash register and shop, as well as refueling cars, continue as before. The premise that not all drivers in remote areas have yet switched to electric vehicles, despite the advent of the electric vehicle era, also remains unchanged.

Clearing snow and restocking inventory… Deeper management elements
‘Winter Resort’ is characterized by significantly enhanced management elements compared to the main game.
To operate a winter resort stably, snow must be cleared and various facilities and equipment consistently maintained. It is also important to check inventory to ensure rental equipment and restaurant ingredients do not run out, and to keep all facilities in working condition before the next group of tourists arrives.
As resorts expand, power management emerges as a new challenge. As facilities increase, so does the power requirement, so power generation and infrastructure must be expanded to supply sufficient electricity to newly constructed facilities.
Once the business grows to a certain level, you can also utilize automation assistants to handle repetitive tasks. By automating cleaning, product replenishment, and guest reception, you can operate an expanding resort more efficiently.
Compared to the main story where a single small gas station was managed, it is now closer to full-scale resort management, involving the simultaneous operation of various facilities and services.

‘The Last Gas Station: Winter Resort’ will be released on Steam on November 18, and the base game ‘The Last Gas Station’ is required to play. It also supports a Korean interface and subtitles.
