A solo Mafia-style card deduction game… ‘Demon Bluff’ launches in November

    By Editorial Team2026년 10월 12일4 Mins Read
    • Combining deduction and deck-building with over 100 character cards and various modes
    • With approximately 230,000 wishlists… A mystery card game that ranked in the top 250 popular games on Steam

Indie game publisher Offbrand Games, in collaboration with developer UmiArt, will officially launch the single-player social reasoning roguelike card game ‘Demon Bluff’ on the global PC game platform Steam in November 2026. The exact release date will be announced later.

The news of this launch was first revealed at the ‘Convergence Games Showcase.’ Along with the announcement, Offbrand Games captured the attention of global gamers by unveiling a new trailer video offering a glimpse into actual gameplay.

Armed with an unusual combination of genres and unique gameplay, ‘Demon Bluff’ has opened a store page on Steam ahead of its official launch and is continuing preparations to welcome global users.

A village where every card can lie

‘Demon Bluff’ is a new title that combines the ‘single-player deck-building roguelike’ genre with the tension of ‘social deduction’ found in games like Mafia, adding the fun of replayability. Players must investigate a corrupted village and collect clues by meeting various characters (cards) depicted in 2D card art.

The core of the game is to see through the demons and their minions disguised as villagers who are trying to deceive the player with lies, and to join forces with the real villagers to find and eliminate all the hidden demons. It delivers the high tension characteristic of roguelikes, where the game ends the moment you fail to deduce and make a wrong judgment.

A roguelike structure for deck building, offering various modes

The game combines the tension of social reasoning with a roguelike deck-building structure. In basic mode, you save several villages in sequence using a randomly generated deck.

In Deck Building Mode, you can build your own deck and then embark on step-by-step challenges featuring more complex cards, upgrades, and lies. Endless Mode and Challenge Mode are also available.

Saving a village unlocks new character cards that are added to your deck and random encounters. You can also collect card skins, card backs, and decorative items to customize your character. The developers highlighted over 100 unique character cards, various customization options, and increasingly complex mechanics and challenges as key features.

UmiArt, founded by a Polish brother and sister… Northerners also support development

Developer UmiArt is a studio founded by a brother and sister from Poland. They stated that they focus on creating 2D card games that are easy to learn yet deep and highly worth replaying.

Piotr Kwiatkowski is a senior Unity developer and 2D artist with experience in mobile game development at Ten Square Games and others. Agnieszka Kwiatkowska is a junior 2D artist with a degree in fine arts who is in charge of character art and animation.

Northernlion, known as a roguelike game streamer, is also supporting the development. According to a press release, Northernlion is contributing to development costs alongside Offbrand Games and Ludwig Aren, and is participating in playtesting and design feedback. He is also set to handle streaming and social content production.

According to the publisher, Northernian’s total platform followers are approximately 3.2 million, and Offbrand Games and Ludwig Aren’s total reach is approximately 18 million.

Ranked in the top 250 on Steam, nearly 300,000 people participated in the playtest

‘Demon Bluff’ has garnered attention since before its release due to its unique concept of single-player social reasoning. According to Offbrand Games, it has approximately 230,000 items on Steam Wishlist and ranked in the top 250 popular games on Steam.

It is explained that it also became a hot topic through major content creators such as Northernian, DisguisedToast, Retromation, and Aliensrock.

Nearly 300,000 users participated in the playtest, and the average playtime is close to 6 hours. In the Discord community of over 8,800 people, users are active creating their own mods, custom cards, and daily puzzles.

‘Demon Bluff’ is scheduled for release on Steam in November 2026. The exact release date, price, and whether it supports Korean have not yet been announced. You can add the game to your wishlist on the Steam store page.
