■ 25 trainees completed UNSEEN’s Unreal Engine program training course for four months. Development of various projects such as FPS and RPG
■ Excellent graduates of UNSEEN participate in Smilegate recruitment-linked internships to learn practical skills in game development
Smilegate Future Lab (from now on referred to as ‘Future Lab’) announced on the 16th (Wednesday) that it will conduct a recruitment-linked internship for trainees of the Unreal Engine Programmer training course ‘Unseen.’
‘UNSEEN’ is a curriculum jointly developed by Future Lab and Epic Games Korea. The two companies signed an MOU in November last year to promote UNSEEN and started the training course in March this year. Twenty-five trainees who completed the training course attended the UNSEEN graduation ceremony on July 25th. At the completion ceremony, trainees presented their projects, experienced each other, and had time to share opinions on improvement.
Future Lab connects UNSEEN with employment-linked internships to give excellent trainees an opportunity for Smilegate internships. Trainees participating in the Smilegate internship program will be assigned to field projects to learn development practices with current developers.
For the past four months, trainees took classes by planning a curriculum according to their learning stage and competency on the UNSEEN exclusive learning platform, wrote study notes with mentors and colleagues, and shared opinions. Using Unreal Engine, he created games of various genres, such as FPS (first-person shooter), casual games, and RPG (Role Playing Game).
In addition, once every other week, they participated in Mob Programming (a task in which several people review the coding of a specific project together). They discussed sophisticating the project and experiencing learning to do programming independently.
Future Lab Director Baek Min-Jeong said, “I hope that the trainees who participated in UNSEEN over the past four months will have an opportunity to learn various development knowledge related to Unreal Engine and improve their capabilities as Unreal Engine programmers.” We will strive to create an environment to enhance our capabilities and grow.”
