On June 5, 2025, Seongnam City (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced the selection of the ‘Top 70’ outstanding exhibitors for the 2025 IndieCraft event. Co-hosted by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency (President Lee Eui-jun) and the Korea Mobile Game Association (Chairman Hwang Sung-ik), IndieCraft has solidified its reputation as a premier event for indie game developers.
This year’s IndieCraft attracted submissions from 292 developers, setting a new record and underscoring the event’s growing prominence within the indie game community. The organizing committee noted that the quality and originality of the submissions made the selection process particularly challenging. The final ‘Top 70’ includes 50 domestic developers, 20 in the Challenger category, and additional international invitees, with the full list to be published on the official IndieCraft website in early June.
The selected developers will have the opportunity to showcase their games at the ‘2025 GXG’ festival, Seongnam’s largest cultural event, scheduled for September 19–20 near Pangyo Station. This event is expected to attract over 50,000 attendees. In addition to exhibition opportunities, the developers will receive business support tailored to their needs, participate in a global IR acceleration program, and engage in networking events with industry professionals.
Furthermore, a second evaluation round in early August will determine the top three developers in each category—mobile, PC/console, and Challenger. These nine finalists will share a total prize pool of 40 million KRW and will be honored at an awards ceremony during the GXG exhibition in September.
President Lee Eui-jun of the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency stated, “IndieCraft is more than just an event; it’s a platform to support indie game developers in reaching global markets. We are committed to fostering an environment where creativity thrives and providing various opportunities for international expansion.”
Chairman Hwang Sung-ik of the IndieCraft Organizing Committee added, “Despite the global economic downturn, the indie game sector continues to grow and evolve. We congratulate the selected developers and will actively support them in promoting K-indie games on the global stage.”
