Webzen (CEO Kim Tae-young) is publishing the indie game ‘Lemore: Infested Kingdom (hereinafter referred to as ‘Lemore’)’ developed by Black Anchor Studio, and is undergoing its first large-scale update during the Early Access period.
Lemore is a turn-based strategy RPG game that was released as early access on the global PC game platforms ‘Steam’ and ‘Epic Games Store’ in October 2023. Early access is a business method in which a game in the development stage is first released and then the game quality is improved by reflecting the opinions of gamers who played the game in advance before its official release.
Lemore has been receiving a ‘very positive’ review on Steam during its Early Access period. It has been consistently communicating with global gamers waiting for its official release by posting developer notes more than three times a month on average, and plans to gauge the response through this large-scale update before preparing for its official release in the second half of 2025.
This update for Lemore focuses on enhancing the overall gameplay, including increasing the variety and strategy of gameplay, and improving user convenience, including the UI (User Interface).
In order to lower the entry barrier to the turn-based strategy RPG genre, we introduced a tutorial that helps players understand the game system and adjusted the difficulty level.
We increased the level of freedom in stage selection so that gamers can enjoy the fun of leading an expedition and exploring, and we introduced a reward system that allows players to develop their expedition based on the results of the expedition, thereby strengthening the purpose of the gameplay.
In addition, we added expeditions and enemy characters with various characteristics and skills, and introduced terrain with various special effects to further increase strategy.
