Kakao Games Unveils New Trailer for Open-World Zombie Survival Sim ‘God Save Birmingham’
SEOUL, South Korea — April 28, 2025 — Kakao Games (CEO Sang-Woo Han) announced today the release of a brand-new trailer for God Save Birmingham, an upcoming open-world zombie survival simulator developed by Ocean Drive Studio (CEO Hee-Jae Kim).
God Save Birmingham is a PC game currently in development, slated for Steam Early Access. Set in 14th-century Birmingham, England, the game tells a gripping survival story where players must scavenge for essential supplies, such as food and water, and seek shelter in a city overrun by the undead.
First revealed at Gamescom 2024, God Save Birmingham received praise for its:
- Unique setting blending medieval history with zombie apocalypse themes
- Stunning visuals and physics powered by Unreal Engine 5
- Creative combat mechanics using interactive objects in the environment
- Meticulous details, down to bedding, cookware, and furniture
The newly released 9-minute gameplay trailer showcases a realistic recreation of medieval Birmingham, immersive sound design, and dynamic physics-based interactions. Viewers can see a survivor using chairs to climb to higher ground, traversing buildings via ladders, and creatively avoiding zombie encounters by utilizing the surrounding terrain.
The trailer also highlights environmental interactivity: tables collapse under the character’s weight, and zombies stumble over stacked crates, demonstrating the game’s advanced physics engine.
Following the Steam Early Access launch for PC, Ocean Drive Studio plans to release full versions of God Save Birmingham on Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
As part of its global publishing agreement, Kakao Games will handle localization, marketing, and international release support. Ocean Drive Studio will remain in charge of development and live operations.
Kakao Games has previously partnered with Ocean Drive Studio on the global publishing of other titles, including Lost Eidolons: Witch of Hypocrisy and Section 13.
