    Unity Korea Announces Winners of ‘MWU Korea Awards 2022’

    Unity Korea (CEO Kim In-sook, hereafter referred to as Unity) announced the final winners of the Unity engine-based content contest ‘Made with Unity Korea Award 2022 (MWU Korea Award 2022)’ on the 4th.

    The MWU Korea Award is an event that discovers excellent domestic content based on the Unity engine and aims to support the success of the project. Unity received a total of 400 applications from July 1st to August 31st and selected 14 final works through online public voting and a review by Unity’s internal evaluation panel. There are a total of 16 categories, including 6 categories in the game and industry fields, 2 Unity Picks newly established as special awards, and 2 categories for the best work.

    This year, ‘Sky Island’ of Olympus and ‘BUILDIT DESIGNER’ of TENELEVEN Co., Ltd. received the most votes and were selected as the best works in the game and industry fields, respectively. The best work will receive 5 million won in prize money and various promotional benefits, such as introducing the winning work through Unity Korea online and offline channels.

    Sky Island, which was selected as the best game in the game field, is a quarter-view action-adventure game in which curious children and the forest spirit Puri go on an adventure together. In particular, among the past MWU Korea Awards, the project that the university student development team worked on for the first time was selected as the best game in the game category, adding significance.

    Kim Ik-ji, general manager of Olympus, said, “Thanks to the easy-to-access Unity engine, we were able to show better quality graphics. Please,” he said.

    In addition, in the ▲Best Graphic category, Catje Labs and 39 Studio’s ‘Trouble Punk’ ▲Best Immersive’s Visual Light Co., Ltd.’s ‘Wolf and Pigs Multi’ ▲Best Innovation ( Best Innovation) Buff Studio ‘Blue Wednesday’ ▲Best Monetization Category Placer ‘My Little Milkyway’ ▲Best PC/Console Category Alive (ALIVE Inc.) ‘Vapor World: Over The Mind’ was selected as the best film, respectively.

    In addition, Unity Pick, which was newly established to support creators active in various fields this year, has ‘Best Indie’ for indie game revival and ‘Best Indie’ designed to contribute to creating a sustainable society and environment based on creativity. One of each was selected as ‘Best Social Impact.’

    ▲The best indie is the hyper ninja action game ‘NINJA ISSEN’ developed by one developer Asteroid-J ▲The best social impact is a multi-ending story adventure based on the preciousness of life developed by Thebrix. The impact game ’30 Days’ received the award.

    Kim Beom-joo, head of Unity Korea’s Evangelism Division, who served as the jury member of the MWU Korea Awards, said, “There was a lot of trouble in judging the MWU Korea Awards 2022 as the largest number of works were submitted. Based on the criteria, the best works were selected.” He added, “It is an honor to be judged for this MWU Korea Awards 2022, which is full of Unity Engine and creative ideas.

    Kim In-sook, CEO of Unity Korea, said, “As the enthusiasm for participation in the MWU Korea Awards is heating up every year, especially this MWU Korea Awards 2022 was a year where the creative ideas and challenges of creators stood out even more. As it is being used in the future, we look forward to more challenges and success stories based on the Unity engine.”
