ZEP (CEO Won-bae Kim) announced on the 3rd that it will hold the 3rd map creation contest on its metaverse platform ‘ZEP’.
This contest, which marks its third anniversary since the launch of the service, will be held under the theme of creating educational maps for elementary school students. It was prepared with the purpose of securing a novel map that can serve as an educational function while stimulating the interest and interest of elementary school students and to support various educational sites.
Those who wish to participate in the contest must create an education-related map in one of the elementary school subjects such as Korean, mathematics, and social studies by September 4 and submit it through the contest entry link to complete the application.
Judging is conducted in consideration of the completeness, usability, and originality of the submitted maps, and anyone can easily create and implement various functions using the map editor provided by ZEP. Adding a script function to create games in ZEP will help create original maps.
After the submission of works for the contest is completed, online voting will be conducted among the participants, and a total of 10 winning teams will be announced on September 13th after internal screening. The total prize money is 10 million won, and the winning team is given a prize of 1 million won each, and benefits such as qualification as an official ‘ZEP’ partner company, issuance of excellent map production certificates, and exemption from document screening when applying for a job.
Meanwhile, prior to the contest, ZEP introduced lecture contents that lowered the barriers to entry for creators to create maps and helped them understand the ‘ZEP’ script function.
On the 2nd, the online coding education platform ‘Sparta Coding Club’ provided free lecture content ‘Tasting Metaverse Development with ZEP’, a lecture content related to ‘ZEP’ map production, and collaborated with popular YouTuber ‘Zoe Coding’ in the coding field. Video content containing detailed explanations on how to use the ‘ZEP’ script has been released.

On the other hand, ‘Sparta Coding Club’, which released the ZEP script lecture video, is an online coding education platform for non-majors and provides web development, app development, and game development lectures. With a practical curriculum, various management programs and online studies using metaverse are operated so that anyone can listen to the lecture to the end, recording a high completion rate of 85.5%.
