- Global Expansion: Busan Indie Connect (BIC) Festival Organizing Committee leads a delegation to Taipei Game Show 2026.
- Dual Strategy: Promoting the BIC brand in B2B while showcasing 4 top-tier titles in the B2C “Indie House” section.
- The Big Four: Slayer, Room 502, Space Revolver, and Gluttony to represent the pinnacle of K-Indie creativity.
The Busan Indie Connect (BIC) Festival Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA) and Busan Metropolitan City, is officially launching a global campaign at the Taipei Game Show 2026 (TGS 2026). From January 29 to February 1, the delegation will occupy the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center to prove that the “K-Indie” wave is just getting started.

A Two-Pronged Global Assault: B2B and B2C
The BIC Committee isn’t just there to show off games; they are there to cement Busan’s reputation as a global indie hub.
- B2B Strategy: The committee has secured a dedicated booth in the B2B zone to highlight the 12-year legacy of the BIC Festival. They aim to foster partnerships with global publishers and investors, positioning the festival as the premier gateway for indie games in Asia.
- B2C Strategy: In the “Indie House” section, four standout games from BIC 2025 will be playable for the public. This provides developers with direct access to the massive Greater China market and real-time feedback from a diverse player base.
The “Big Four”: Representing the Best of BIC 2025
The titles selected for TGS 2026 showcase the sheer variety and mechanical depth of the current Korean indie scene:
- Slayer: The World of Spirits (Play Mephistowaltz): An Action RPG built on the intriguing design philosophy of “What if Nintendo made a Soulslike?” It features a polished combat system that balances high difficulty with rewarding mechanics.
- Room 502 (LOTS): A narrative-driven mystery adventure set in a high school dormitory. Players navigate the cynical perspective of protagonist Hae-eun as she uncovers eerie truths hidden behind the facade of daily student life.
- Space Revolver (MK Studio): A brain-teasing grid-based strategy puzzle. This “Sokoban-style” game challenges players with unique map rotation and gravity manipulation mechanics.
- Gluttony (Team FG): A visceral 2D action roguelike set in the “Food Hell” universe. Players hunt down food demons to devour them and absorb their unique abilities, featuring high-octane visuals and fluid combat.
Building a Global Fandom
Joo Sung-pil, Organizing Chairman of the BIC Committee, emphasized that this exhibition is about more than just numbers.
“Our goal at TGS 2026 is to heighten the global visibility of the BIC brand and help our indie developers build a dedicated international fandom,” said Joo. “We will continue our multifaceted promotional efforts to ensure K-Indie games successfully find their footing in the broader Asian market.”
Looking Ahead to BIC 2026
This international showcase serves as a warm-up for the 12th Annual BIC Festival 2026, which is scheduled to return to Busan this August. The committee plans to open submissions for the 2026 exhibition in the coming months, inviting developers from across the globe to join the festivities in Korea’s “Game City.”
