South Korean game company Neptune has announced the final winners of the “Toss HTML5 Game Challenge with Neptune,” a joint game development contest held in partnership with Viva Republica, the operator of the mobile financial platform Toss.
The competition, which ran for approximately three months starting in August, was designed to discover creative HTML5-based games while fostering a lightweight game development ecosystem. It also aimed to provide participating developers with real monetization opportunities through Toss’s in-app platform Apps-in-Toss, including in-app advertising and payments.

122 Entries, 8 Winning Teams Selected
A total of 122 games were submitted by a wide range of participants, from solo developers to small studio teams. Submissions were evaluated based on overall quality, accessibility, creativity, and scalability, with eight teams ultimately selected across four award tiers:
- Grand Prize (1 team)
- Excellence Award (1 team)
- Merit Award (1 team)
- Encouragement Awards (5 teams)
Grand Prize Goes to “PangPang Logistics Center”
The Grand Prize was awarded to “PangPang Logistics Center,” which impressed judges with its low entry barrier, high level of polish, and strong potential for early user acquisition.
The game stood out by using the unconventional theme of logistics loading and unloading, offering clear differentiation from similar casual genres. Judges also highlighted its high system scalability, noting strong growth potential through future updates.
Other Award Winners
- The Excellence Award went to “Animal Farm Tycoon,” praised for its intuitive gameplay loop and solid core mechanics, as well as its potential for stable monetization with future content expansions.
- The Merit Award was presented to “Merge Beach,” recognized for its refined execution within the popular merge genre.
- Five additional teams received Encouragement Awards for showcasing originality and experimentation, including the team behind the indie hit “Jumo Raising.”
₩70 Million Prize Pool and Immediate Platform Launch
The competition featured a total prize pool of ₩70 million KRW (approximately USD $53,000), distributed as follows:
- ₩30 million — Grand Prize
- ₩20 million — Excellence Award
- ₩10 million — Merit Award
- ₩2 million each — Encouragement Awards (5 teams)
All winning titles are now playable directly within the Toss app via the Apps-in-Toss mini app platform. Users can access the games through the “Games” section in the app’s main menu or by searching for the game titles.
Potential Publishing Support from Neptune
Neptune also indicated that it is exploring potential publishing agreements with selected winners. The company plans to leverage its publishing expertise built through successful mobile titles such as “Infinite Stairs,” “Cat Snack Bar,” and “Cat Office,” all of which are based on Neptune’s proprietary IPs.
A Neptune representative commented:
“This competition serves as a meaningful starting point for developers with fresh ideas to showcase their content on a major platform like Toss, gain visibility, and explore new opportunities. We will continue working to energize game creation culture and discover hidden talent.”
Ongoing Collaboration Between Neptune and Toss
Neptune has been collaborating with Toss as an official Apps-in-Toss partner since July 2025. The two companies plan to further expand their partnership by introducing mini-game versions of Neptune’s casual mobile game IPs within the Toss app in the future.
The success of the HTML5 Game Challenge highlights growing interest in lightweight, instantly accessible games and demonstrates how non-traditional platforms like fintech apps are becoming viable channels for indie game distribution and monetization.
