    Going Global: KOCCA Announces ‘2026 Game Add-on’ Support with Google Play Partnership

    The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) has officially opened recruitment for the “2026 Game Add-on” (Game Plus) project. This flagship initiative is designed to empower domestic game companies to take their titles to the global stage by providing a “buff” of localized services, marketing, and infrastructure.


    Two Tracks for International Expansion

    KOCCA is selecting approximately 40 companies (20 per track) across two distinct categories:

    1. Performance-Driven Track: For games already launched overseas that wish to expand into additional territories or boost their current presence.
    2. Initial-Entry Track: For games with no prior overseas launch history that plan to enter at least one new international market.
      • Note: Initial-entry games must launch by August 31, 2026.

    Each track aims to support 15 mobile projects and 5 PC/VR/Console projects, ensuring a diverse range of platforms are represented.

    The Points System: Strategic Scaling

    Instead of a direct cash grant, the program uses a Point System (1 point = 1 KRW). This allows developers to “shop” for the specific services they need—such as translation, LQA, global PR, or server infrastructure—on the dedicated Game Add-on platform.

    • Base Grant: 50 million points upon selection.
    • Performance Bonuses: Up to two additional 50-million-point injections based on performance reviews.
    • Total Potential: 150 million points.
    • Self-Burden: Developers must invest 2.5 million KRW (5% of the base points) in cash.

    Strategic Partnership with Google Play

    The 2026 edition introduces a significant upgrade: a Global Partnership with Google Play. Selected high-performance projects may receive:

    • Priority consideration for Google Play Store promotions.
    • Access to global launch strategy seminars and education.
    • Onboarding support for cross-device (PC-mobile) development.
