Sea-Steading and Serenity: ‘Collector’s Cove’ Sets Sail on PC and Consoles

    By Editorial Team2026년 03월 17일3 Mins Read
    • The Vibe: A strictly non-violent, cozy farming adventure where your farm travels with you across the ocean.
    • The Hook: Explore mysterious islands, fill your “Collector’s Compendium,” and bond with a giant sea dinosaur.
    • The Developer: VoodooDuck, a 4-person indie team from Duisburg, Germany (creators of Growth).
    • Launch Date: March 12, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.

If you’re tired of dodging bullets or managing health bars, VoodooDuck has released the perfect digital vacation. Collector’s Cove officially launched last week, offering a peaceful loop of exploration and discovery that swaps out boss fights for biology lessons.

    Farming on the High Seas

Collector’s Cove reimagines the farming sim by putting your entire homestead on a houseboat. Instead of being tethered to a single plot of land, you sail through a vast, low-poly archipelago.

    • No Combat, No Stress: The game focuses entirely on the “Collector’s Compendium.” Your goal is to find, catalog, and collect rare plants, fish, and ancient artifacts without the pressure of survival mechanics or enemies.
    • The Houseboat Life: You grow crops right on the deck of your boat and fish off the side. Resources gathered from islands can be traded for blueprints and seeds, allowing you to upgrade your mobile home.
    • The Companion System: Your boat isn’t powered by an engine—it’s pulled by a lovable Plesiosaurus. You can feed it, pet it, and even dress it up in hats. Managing your dinosaur’s stamina is the only “survival” element; you’ll need to feed it and let it rest between long voyages to keep your journey moving.

“Stardew Valley Meets the Orange Islands”

The reception has been glowing, with critics and players alike praising the game’s rhythmic, meditative loop. Steam Deck HQ aptly described it as “The Pokemon Orange Islands episode meets Stardew Valley,” while PC Gamer highlighted the perfect balance between the repetitive joy of farming and the thrill of discovering a new island.

Currently sitting at an 87% positive rating on Steam, the community has particularly fallen in love with the companion mechanics and the ability to customize the cozy interior of the houseboat.

    Early Success and Availability

The game built a loyal following during Steam Next Fest, where the developers made the smart move of allowing demo progress to carry over into the full version.

For those looking to dive in, the game is currently available with a 10% launch discount for the first two weeks. Steam users can also find it in several “Cozy Bundles” alongside hits like The Wandering Village and Tiny Book Shop for an additional discount.
