- Side-view hardcore co-op shooter BLACKOUT: Zero Point demo debuts on Steam
- 3 stages, approximately 2 hours of campaign experience, and up to 4-player co-op support
Outdoor Operation (CEO Kang Jun-an) announced that it will be releasing the demo version of its currently developing hardcore cooperative shooter ‘BLACKOUT: Zero Point (hereinafter referred to as BLACKOUT)’ for the first time through Steam on July 31st.
‘Blackout’ is a 1-4 player cooperative shooter game set in a near-future world where the Earth Federation has fallen to a special infection, and players become special forces agents and are deployed to the infected area.
The demo features a roughly two-hour campaign and three stages, supporting single-player and online co-op for up to four players.
The demo features tactical gun combat and mission-based gameplay with various objectives, including challenging content requiring a variety of strategies, such as purging infected bases and hacking data.
“Blackout” has consistently garnered attention both domestically and internationally since its early development. Its excellence in gameplay was recognized by winning first place at the 17th Gyeonggi Game Audition. It also garnered attention at major gaming events, including winning the 2023 GIGDC College Grand Prize, being nominated for the 2023 Unity Awards Best Student category, and being nominated for the 2023 BIC Best Action and Multiplayer category.
Recently, it was selected as a finalist in the Best Student Game category at the 2025 GDWC (Global Game Dev Contest), and is garnering much anticipation from indie game fans around the world.
Kang Jun-an, CEO of Outdoor Operations, said, “This demo is the first opportunity to meet players from around the world before the official launch. We hope you experience the overwhelming atmosphere of ‘Blackout’ and the high-difficulty cooperative battles that our team has prepared.” He added, “We plan to actively accept various feedback from users to further improve the level of completion.”
Meanwhile, “Blackout” is scheduled to launch in Early Access after participating in Steam Next Fest in February 2026, with future expansion to console platforms planned. This demo version is available for free download and experience for all Steam members, and more information about the game can be found on its Steam store page.
