Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency announced the inaugural Busan Indie Wave Conference, set to take place on August 14, 2025, at the Grand Josun Hotel in Haeundae, Busan.
This first-time event is held in conjunction with the Busan Indie Connect Festival 2025 and aims to strengthen the foundation for the global expansion of Busan’s indie game industry. The conference will also promote the diffusion of cutting-edge technology trends within the gaming sector.

🔹 A Multi-Track Event: Insight, Strategy, and Connection
The conference will be composed of three main segments:
- Global Conference
- Focus Sessions
- 1:1 Business Matching Consultations
In the Global Conference, speakers will include developers from Pengonauts (StarVaders), Ada Eden (1001 Nights), as well as professionals from YouTube, Studio Sinkhole, and more. These sessions will share the latest developments in the indie game industry and strategies for market entry, offering valuable insights from diverse global perspectives.
The Focus Sessions are intimate group discussions between industry practitioners and attendees. Representatives from Solana, HwaWoo Game Center, and other organizations will deliver practical, in-depth insights on platform expansion strategies, legal issues in gaming, and more. These sessions encourage open Q&A and offer attendees personalized advice.
The conference also includes one-on-one business matching consultations and networking time between speakers and participating companies, providing opportunities to forge partnerships and foster industry collaboration.

Kim Tae-Yeol, President of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, stated:

The event is part of the Regional Specialized Content Development Support Program, operated in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency and Busan Metropolitan City.
