    Nexon, Project MOD ‘Developer Wings 2022’ briefing session

    Nexon (CEO Jeong-heon Lee) announced on the 20th that it had held a preliminary briefing session for the developer partnership program ‘Developer Wings 2022 (hereinafter referred to as Wings 2022)’ on its content production and service platform ‘PROJECT MOD’.

    ‘Wings 2022’ is a program that provides various benefits, including development support, so that potential developers can create novel content with the production tools provided by ‘PROJECT MOD’. The ‘Wings 2022’ website is accepting participants until June 30th.

    Prior to this, Nexon held a preliminary briefing session for those interested in this program on the 17th. The event, which was broadcast live online, was attended by Nexon Director Shin Min-seok and N-Platform Business Office Manager Oh Se-hyeong to introduce ‘PROJECT MOD’ and ‘Wings 2022’ and to answer questions from prospective participants in real time.

    First, Director Shin Min-seok explained the overall development environment of ‘PROJECT MOD’. More than 30 million ‘MapleStory’ art assets, sound, etc. resources can be utilized, a UI editor that does not require complex script writing, a joint development function that enhances team work efficiency, and DB/server and API references required for development It explained in detail that various devices were prepared for the convenience of development.

    Next, Director Oh Se-hyeong introduced the program contents and benefits of ‘Wings 2022’. Developers who directly released the world in ‘PROJECT MOD’ through ‘Wings 2022’, in addition to up to 10 million won in development subsidy, will be given preferential benefits to the profits they will get from servicing the world they created in the future. After the event is over, if the best work is selected, additional prize money and marketing activities within the Nexon channel are also actively supported.

    Afterwards, in the FAQ time delivering the main information of ‘Wings 2022’, the audience’s response continued in the explanation of monetization in ‘PROJECT MOD’. Oh Se-hyeong, the head of the department, said, “We are also considering various ways to build a strong creator economy for creators to generate profits in PROJECT MOD.”

    Lastly, in the real-time Q&A session, questions about the development function and global service of ‘PROJECT MOD’ followed thanks to the high interest of ‘Wings 2022’ preliminary participants.

    Daehwon Kim, Executive Vice President of New Development of Nexon, who appeared as an interview video at the event, said, “The foundation of Nexon’s new platform service, ‘PROJECT MOD’, lies in its contents. Content can be an important foundation for us.”
