- Self-developed and published by Korean indie studio Plotrick, scheduled for official Steam release in 2026
- The protagonist is not a Three Kingdoms hero, but the renowned physician Hua Tuo… A legion survival story completed by ‘bonds’
- Adding Three Kingdoms strategy to Snake Scroll action… Dominate the battlefield with 18 types of relationship synergies
A free demo of ‘Mega Squad Survivors,’ a Three Kingdoms bullet-hell roguelite developed and published by the South Korean indie studio Plotrick, was unveiled at Steam Next Fest 2026 on June 15. The game is currently under development with a target official release on Steam in 2026 and supports Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
‘Nanse Musou: Survivors’ is a title that combines bullet-hell action in the style of Vampire Survivors with the Three Kingdoms worldview and a unique ‘Bond’ synergy system. It is particularly noteworthy for featuring Hua Tuo, a renowned physician from the Three Kingdoms, as the protagonist, rather than heroes like Guan Yu or Zhao Yun.
Players must break through a battlefield swarming with thousands of enemies while simultaneously recruiting Three Kingdoms generals reimagined as beautiful girls to assemble and command an army. Beyond simple survival, strategic gameplay that considers general combinations and relationship effects is the key to progressing through the game.
Beautiful female generals roaming the battlefield… A modern reinterpretation of the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms
The game reinterprets familiar characters from the Three Kingdoms in a modern animation style. Famous generals such as Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Lu Bu, and Zhuge Liang appear as characters with distinct weapons and combat styles, while massive hordes of enemies and spectacular skill animations deliver the unique thrill of bullet hell action.
In this demo update released ahead of Steam Next Fest, sound effects and background music have been introduced for the first time. Battle cries, majestic sound effects of exploding skills, and BGM capturing the atmosphere of the Three Kingdoms era support the game’s overall quality. The animations for triggering bonds and camera angles have also been newly improved.

A unique combat structure created by Physician Hua Tuo… Hyuksim is the ‘Bond’ system
The most significant feature of ‘Warlords of the Storm: Survivors’ is that the protagonist, Hua Tuo, is not merely a fictional character but functions as a central axis of the gameplay.
‘Bonds,’ the core system of the game, are elements that embody the representative events and relationships of the Three Kingdoms as combat synergy. A total of 18 types of bonds are available, including the Oath of the Peach Garden, the Five Tiger Generals, and the Battle of Red Cliffs, and powerful additional effects are triggered when related generals fight together.
If a general falls during battle, the bond effect involving that general also disappears. However, if Hua Tuo personally visits the tombstone and revives the general, the bond is reactivated. Constant strategic judgment is required regarding whether to move into a dangerous area to save the general or to safely continue the battle.

50 Generals and over 200 skill combinations… In-depth build design
The general draft that takes place before the start of battle is a key element that determines the game’s strategic depth. Depending on which general is selected, the available bonds and combat styles change.
The game features synergies for five factions—Wei, Shu, Wu, Warlords, and Righteousness—which can be combined with over 200 types of skills. Additionally, 50 generals each possess unique abilities, allowing for the creation of diverse builds.
In addition, the addition of four growth paths through monument enhancement and a diverse array of enemies, including elite monsters, bosses, and raid bosses, stands out for enhancing the fun of replay.

Developer Lee Dong-hwan’s First Challenge… Plotrick’s Unique Genre Combination Experiment
Plotrick is a Korean indie studio founded by developer Lee Dong-hwan. ‘Nanse Musang: Survivors’ is the studio’s first commercial project, showcasing a unique approach that combines the Three Kingdoms story with the Snake Scroll genre.
In particular, it targets both fans of the Three Kingdoms and fans of survival action games through its “Relationship System,” which utilizes famous historical scenes from the Three Kingdoms as combat synergy, and its beautiful girl character designs. This demo version also includes updates reflecting user feedback, such as optimization for large-scale battles and improvements to graphics options.
Currently, a free demo is available to play through Steam Next Fest, where you can experience 3 stages, 50 generals, and a permanent growth system for about 3 hours.
