- The simplicity of putting a ball into a cup is reborn as a physics brawl party game, participating in Steam Next Fest.
Beer Pong is well-known as a drinking game where you throw a ball into a cup. A new work has emerged that adds the ingenious imagination of “What if the cups fought back?” to this simple game.
Trickshotterz, a physics-based multiplayer party game developed and published in-house by Lumari Games, participated in Steam Next Fest 2026 and unveiled a free demo.
The game supports up to four-player local play, online PvP, and public matchmaking, and is scheduled for official release in the third quarter of 2026. The developer describes the game as “a work in which the Beer Pong game has evolved into a form where it engages in self-confrontation.”
Cartoon-style physics arena… an unpredictable match
Tricksters is a party brawl action game with cartoon-style 2D graphics, characterized by a combination of multiplayer and physics-based action.
Each stage is designed not as a simple arena, but as a ‘physics puzzle space.’ Due to the placement of rotating obstacles, teleportation portals, angle-changing platforms, and shockwave objects, even the same shot can produce completely different results depending on the environment.
The sound adds vitality to the chaotic gameplay. The crisp crashing sounds and exaggerated sound effects blend together, eliciting both laughter and tension at every unpredictable moment.
Style is the score… Wall Reflection, Rocket Ride, Aerial Launch, Sniper Boost combo
The key to the game is not simply success, but ‘style’. You earn points by putting the ball into the cup, but the score varies greatly depending on how creative and daring the process was. Various elements, such as rebound plays where the ball bounces off a wall, aerial movement, and path design using portals, are reflected in the score, and even with the same result, the evaluation is completely different depending on the play style.
Players can formulate strategies by selecting different abilities at the start of a match. Representative examples include ‘Dash,’ which allows for rapid movement to reposition; ‘Wind Blast,’ which deflects projectiles to launch a counterattack; and ‘Vacuum,’ which pulls the ball back in to change its direction in mid-air. These abilities go beyond simple support tools and serve as elements that change the play style itself.
Ultimately, Tricksters is not simply a game about throwing a ball; it is a title that finds its fun in the process of creating spectacular combo plays, such as traversing the map and changing trajectories in mid-air.

RPG Explosions, Remote-Controlled Balls, Shockwave Orbits… Power-ups Turn the Tables
Power-ups that appear during the match are elements that can turn the tide of the game. RPG-style balls explode in multiple directions to create area-of-effect attacks, while shockwave balls blast opponents away. Remote-controlled balls can be directly manipulated to follow a desired trajectory, enabling dramatic comeback plays.
Thanks to this diverse variable system, the game retains the true charm of a ‘party game’ where a single opportunity can turn the tide even when you are significantly behind.
Creative variations stemming from a simple drinking game
Lumari Games is a one-person development studio with a strong ability to translate experimental ideas into intuitive gameplay. They differentiate themselves by starting with simple rules and combining physics-based interactions with multiplayer elements, and ‘Trickshatters’ is a title that clearly demonstrates this development philosophy.
Overseas media outlets have described ‘Trickshatters’ as “a game that expands the traditional game of putting a ball into a cup into shooting and physical brawling.” It is garnering attention for reinterpreting a game that started with simple rules into a completely different genre by combining them with physics-based action.
This demo includes 2 themes, 15 levels, and 3 types of abilities, and anyone can play it for free during the event.
